Oh, beautiful France! I’ve just returned from an impromptu visit to Bordeaux and I had an absolute amazing time from sipping coffee on pretty terraces, observing people’s fashion, enjoying the so popular red wine (in its traditional town) to creating content for my blog and social channels. While packing my luggage, I’ve came across different styles of wearing blazers this season and decided I have to try this particular one out! Let’s find out how to best wear your blazers and jeans this season.
Hourglass shaped body?
What I like to do, especially with black blazers is to create a perfect hourglass body shape by wearing a narrow belt around my waist. I don’t normally have a preference when it comes to where the belt is positioned, but in this combination, you want to make sure that the belt is tight enough on your waist (don’t wear this for a bottomless Prosecco brunch though) to create that hourglass shape. When it comes to the perfect belts, my favourite brand is by far Mango – their quality is amazing, although sometimes I might look out for belts in Zara too.
Where to wear Blazers & Jeans
Depending of where you plan to wear this outfit to, you can choose to wear a black top underneath or a hidden bra for a sexier look. I went for a top underneath my blazer (find similar here) as I was going for a wine tasting and it felt more appropriate for the occasion. I would probably go for the other option on a different occasion such as cocktail party or a rooftop event at night. If you’re visiting Bordeaux, you can’t miss the stunning Wine Museum – expect a history rich experience and some delicious wine too. The views from there are simply breathtaking, so I would definitely recommend to bring your camera to take some pictures for the ‘gram – just avoid the crowds because as you can imagine everyone is looking for getting the best shot.
Now, I’m not the biggest fan of jeans to be honest, but somehow a pair of skinny jeans (find similar here) makes this look really stylish; while a pair of black trousers could potentially ‘destroy’ the look. Just have fun with the items you already have in your wardrobe and come up with a few alternative looks: try checked blazers and jeans or white blazers paired with pale pink jeans!
As I know you love a special occasion to celebrate, it’s English Wine Week! There a few cool options on Virgin Experience Days or Groupon such as Cheese & Wine Tasting Experiences or Countryside Vineyard tours that you can absolutely make the most out of. And no this is not sponsored, I just believe that the outfit can definitely go with the options above and might inspire you to do something different as I’m always on the hunt for unique experiences.
It’s time for a closet tour to create this look – tag me @notagirlygal in your Instagram posts while wearing your take on this outfit, I would love to connect with you.
Until next time,
