Pedicure at home can turn into a relaxing ritual. Especially after a Summer where I’ve mainly spent my days at the beach, I feel like I need this more than ever. Unwind while reading this article, together with a warm cup of tea and let’s get silky smooth skin again.

Hello, my soft feet

To begin my pedicure, I’m going to soak my feet in lukewarm water. For a hint of a gorgeous smell, I would add a few drops of essential oils in my water. I normally spend 5 to 10 minutes there, thinking about my day or trying to do a form of a quick meditation. In this way, I would feel like I’m actually winning more time to my day, than just impatiently wait for the water to do its job.

The Scholl Velvet Smooth file

My home pedicure ritual then continues with this velvet smooth file from Scholl infused with marine minerals. My feet had never looked so moisturised and ready for the day ahead. The process: I just take my file and with firm movements I focus on my heels and the sole of my foot. What I love about this product is that it doesn’t take long to see the results. I maximum spend 10 minutes for both of my feet. Furthermore, if you haven’t tried an electric foot file before, I’d say it’s about high time to give this one a go.

Shaping the nails

Shaping my nails comes next. Also, I’m blessed with a shape that I’m happy with, so after I cut my toe nails, I just go over them with a file to ensure they look even. I don’t tend to get cuticles here, but if I do I’m just pushing them back with a stick or my nail file.

Two coats of nail polish, please

As the care part of my ritual has finished, the next thing is to apply my nail polish. I always ensure that I apply two coats of it for a lasting effect. I’ve fell in love with this OPI nail polish. Also, a premium black will give you that expensive looking pedicure, so I love to wear it as often as I can.

Get me ready

As a last step (I promise) of my pedicure at home, I ensure that I’m wearing this Scholl anti-perspirant foot spray. I’ve been using this product for about 3 years now and I have to say that it keeps my feet fresh all day. As basic as it might sound, we have to always look after our skincare, including the one of our feet.

All in all, I’m very happy with how my pedicure turned out and if you’re currently going to the salon to get it done, I can 100% recommend that you try my tips for a faster and more relaxing experience. Get that time in for yourself and disconnect from the everyday stress. Do this for you.

Also, I’m very curious, have you ever tried to create a ritual alongside your pedicure or manicure?

Lots of love,

Andrada
