Hello there Autumn lovers or soon to be Autumn lovers after you read this post 😉

I’m feeling incredibly inspired by the weather, rain and the lit candles all around my house, as this year, I really went the extra mile with making everything look Autumnal. If you’re the type of person who loves decorating her home or like to admire decors in other people’s places, this post is definitely for you. By the end of it, I want you to walk away inspired to decorate your home and feel more positive about Autumn (and life in general). Let’s go through this little DYI that I have prepared for you, shall we?

There are so many ways in which you can embrace the season, but today I’m going to show you how to create this very beautiful and amazingly scented table decoration! Ah, it makes me so happy every time I look at it or walk past it. It’s the perfect way to embrace Autumn: looking at its colours right in your living room while reading a good book while wrapped in a cozy blanket.

What you’ll need:

  • A plate or tray
  • A large candle jar
  • Some small candles
  • Dry oranges, small peppers and cinnamon sticks
  • Dry leafs (picked up from outside)
  • A small pumpkin

  1. Take your plate and set the dry oranges, peppers and cinnamon sticks.

I’ve found this cute pack at a local farm in Surrey, but I’m sure that you can dry your own oranges and place some cinnamon sticks that you can find in your kitchen. Don’t worry about making it look perfect at this point.

2. Pick up some nice coloured leafs and place them on the plate above the dried oranges

I picked this beautiful one up when I was coming back from town on no special occasion. Next time you’re out and about, remember to pick some nice leafs on your way back home. You can always find fun ways to display them in your home and for this decoration leafs are just perfect.

3. Add a large candle jar

If you’re feeling extra (as you should this season), go for a Halloween themed scented candle. It will make your table decoration even more Autumnal! I was so happy to find this Yankee Candle Limited Edition Witches’ Brew on Notino. It has a woody fragrance and make your living room smell like you’re about to create a spooky spell. Not to mention, the name got me hooked!

4. Place a small pumpkin on the plate for a really Autumnal vibe

I picked this pretty baby while pumpkin picking in Surrey, but any pumpkin will do. You can find some at your local market or even pick your own (I can guarantee it’s so much fun).

5. Lastly, add some small candles

I’m in love with the Yankee candles the baby edition! I’m getting bored quite easily by candle scents, so lighting them in small amounts is what I prefer to do. They smell amazing, just like a chill day of Autumn. My absolute favourite is the Yankee Candle Autumn Glow which smells rather sweet. If you prefer a stronger scent, then the Yankee Candle Autumn Night is perfect for you. For my cinnamon fans, the Yankee Candle Cinnamon Stick is great for the end of month, when we’re starting to think about Christmas! These last for longer than you might think, however you need to be careful as they tend to melt and drip. Just use a special plate when you decide to light one to avoid creating a mess. Find your favourite Yankee Candles.

And you’re done! I hope you’re excited to have this beautiful table decoration around your house. Feel positive and embrace this wonderful season.

Ah, I almost forgot. I’m such a skincare addict and in Autumn/Winter I tend to switch to hydrating and moisturising products. My hero product this month is the Vichy Minéral 89. The serum is absorbed quickly into my skin, without leaving it sticky. It feels really moisturising! I’ve always felt that a hydrating serum is such a must for the cold season. Plus, how can you resist this beautiful packaging?

Hello my beautiful people,

It’s another beautiful Beauty Sunday! Today we’re looking at one of my favourite Autumn Make-up looks starring a fabulous colour: burgundy. This would be my first make-up look that I’m sharing with you, so I’m super excited to see your reactions. On this Singles Day, even though you’re in a relationship or not, it’s time to give yourself some self-love and treat yourself. After all, we have to love ourselves first to be able to love others. Grab your chai latte and get into the world of make-up.

 Autumn Burgundy Make-up Look

I finally got my hands on the Makeup Revolution palette! I’ve seen this on Instagram on a couple of bloggers, but also on the shelves of drugstores and I was eager to try it. Let me just say, I love how chunky the colour blocks are. I mean, it’s a lot of product going in each shade which makes me happy as I can use my hands and don’t feel like I’m going to ruin it. I got mine on Notino – they have quite a few Makeup Revolution products, so it’s great to get them all from one place.

I mainly used the brown & nude shades and that beautiful burgundy to come up with an Autumn look I was proud of. I have applied a combination between the three brown shades on the inner corner of my eye, blending in the dark burgundy on the outer corner. I was impressed how well the colours blended for a drugstore makeup brand! Not only that, but after 5 hours my lids looked just as perfect and I promise you – for my oily skin that’s an accomplishment!

As you can see, the eyes and lips are the main focus of this look, so I have gone easy on the contouring or blush. Highlighters are no longer trending in the beauty industry, it’s all about the matt look now. I excluded any highlighter, not just because they’re not trending, but I wasn’t a big fan of them for too long when they first launched. So, it’s goodbye highlight, but welcome matte looks! To be fair, I think I prefer it: so French and a lot simpler.

When the pumpkin latte arrives at Starbucks, that’s how you know it’s officially Autumn. We’re getting cosy & comfy today with one outfit you need to wear in Autumn 2018. Grab a coffee and your outfit planner and let’s have some styling fun.

You’ve seen these prints on Pinterest and Instagram and to be fair, I feel like a good old checked print sets the mood for Autumn. As well as all the other bits: autumn candles, rusted leaves, chestnuts and pumpkin cupcakes. I wanted to fully embrace this season, so I did a little shopping of candles, cupcake trays and other pieces of decoration for my house last weekend – I did a quick haul on my Instagram stories @notagirlygal.

Getting cosy: One Outfit You Need to Wear in Autumn 2018

There are a lot of combinations you can choose and think about while creating a patterned outfit Autumn look. You can go for dresses worn on top of jumpers, checked skirts and white shirts or checked vests on top of a (really) autumnal outfit.

I chose this classic print because I assume that all of you have a checked printed piece of clothing at home waiting for you to style it. As the checked item will represent the main piece in your outfit, you would like the other pieces not to stand out as much as the others.

TIP: Go for Earthy colours such as nudes and maroons to make the patterned piece steal the show.

 Time for the perfect accessories

It’s Autumn: your perfect excuse to go big on accessories! I love wearing hats, berets, big earrings and watches.

The elegant watch I am wearing is the Viol by Obaku (a Danish brand just launching in the U.K) – I love how the watch comes in the same colour of my jeans. It looks so fragile on my wrist, I think that’s what makes it elegant. If you’re looking for a simple watch this season, keep close as I will be running a giveaway soon!

The beret just makes this outfit so chic – I got this one from Paris from a cute boutique.

Earring wise, I think H&M are smashing it with their collections – these ones are from Holister, but I haven’t been in there for a while now.

 Alternatives to hats

If hats are not really your thing, a sleek ponytail is always cool to wear in autumn. From my point of view, top knots and ponytails work so beautifully with scarves of any kind: small, big or even knitted.

Talking about knits, I feel that I’ve been getting on to my knitted stuff lately. I just like Autumn fashion because it’s more than just wearing a dress – it’s the art of layering that makes me enjoy creating outfits for both my blog and everyday wear. I guess it’s the same for all of fashion lovers out there.

 Autumnal / Halloween Haul

Happy Sunday everyone,

It’s THAT time of the year when we start to get excited about the leaves getting brown and the weather getting colder. Although, I have to say, London is so warm for almost the end of October and I can’t really complain because I’m not a freezing cold lover (maybe in a parallel universe someone loves super cold weather, but I personally don’t know anyone that does here haha).

I personally love to get festive and decorate my house according to the season. I feel that this year I actually made more in that sense for Autumn than ever before. Ah and this reminds me – I didn’t try the Starbucks Pumpkin Latte yet (so late to the party, girl!). Anyways, I picked different autumn scented candles, glitter pumpkins, real pumpkins, creepy chocolates and many other exciting stuff that I can’t wait to show you. Let’s get into it, shall we?

I made almost all my Halloween shopping in ASDA because I feel they have an awesome collection every year (I started to say awesome so much by the way). So we switched from the usual online groceries shopping and we hit the actual store last Friday night.

Glitter Pumpkins

They came in a set of three and they’re super cute! If you want to give a girly autumnal aspect to your bedroom, these cuties will perfectly suit you. Well, I love glitter and gold – imagine the excitement when I saw them on the website. I would highly recommend to check the website first because the Halloween section in store was kind of unorganised (everything was thrown in wrong aisles.. I mean I get shoppers’ excitement but they should be conscious about their actions! – OK, that sounded so serious).

Aren’t they the best?

Baileys Pumpkin Spice

Woo Baileys you are beyond AMAZING! Basically, this limited edition tastes like cinnamon and spiced chai blended with the original Irish cream. I love it when limited edition drinks are really different from the original. I was actually surprised by the perfect blend and how crazy good this tastes (not that I don’t love the original too). It’s that one drink that you HAVE to try this season – it will lift your mood and perfectly get you into the Autumn feeling. Enjoy the strong spices on the rocks (2 ice cubes will do) and embrace the season!

Little Yankee Candles

I love having little candles because I get bored so easily of scents (Mercy, my best friend will agree with me on this). If you’re like me, you’ll understand. My picks for this season:

Japanese Maple and Iced Almond Cookies

Yankee Candle Autumn

The first one smells subtle which is not bad in general, but I prefer a stronger scent to my candles.  It’s a good one for the season, but I am still looking for the perfect one – Any suggestions please?

The second one smells like my mum’s Christmas cookies – yum yum yum!

Halloween Cupcakes

They look so sooo lovely! I saw these on the shelf and thought they will go so well for the Halloween pre-party. You can see in the picture the pumpkin we carved – it’s super scary at night!

Now, I will pour a glass of Baileys, light a Yankee candle and snuggle in bed with my fashion magazines while you browse your items for Halloween.

Happy Halloween my lovelies,

MISSANDRADA

Hi girls,

It’s Autumn already – that great transition between summer and winter that always gets us questioning what would be the perfect items to wear. Don’t let yourself too influenced by the ‘latest’ trends that try to make you run to the shops and buy all the ‘new-in’ items. Evaluate really well whether you need THAT or not. Let’s say the new item consists of a ripped T-shirt. Chances are that you will only wear it once or twice. So, why invest in something that will only occupy space in your wardrobe? Today we’ll talk about the five items you need to conquer the autumn fashion.

First of all, a wardrobe is really complete if you own basics, but know how to match them with different accessories / clothes. Why should you have basics? Simply because you can also wear them on their own, but it would be really easy for you in the future to assign the basics to different styles to create great outfits. However, let’s talk about the basics now –a mix and match blog post is coming up soon.

It’s important to have your essentials in black or white so when you add other clothes, you will keep the chromatic balance – as you should never wear more than 3 colours at once.

A Black Body Top

The black body top is a must in every woman’s wardrobe.  It looks amazing underneath a cool jumper or shirt and it will keep you warm during those rainy days.

missandrada-autumn-essentialsmissandrada-autumn-essentials

A minimalist white button-down shirt

There is no need to tell you about the wonders a white shirt can do an outfit. You can knot it in front or tuck it in. I wouldn’t wear it untucked (at least in front) or unknotted, just because I believe it can make the body look big and bulky, unless I wear it on top.

A pair of black faux leather pants

Ah, how much I love these! Faux leather pants can spice up an outfit and make you feel like you’ve just walked out from a rock music video.

missandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpants

 Black Heel Boots

A pair of heel boots can make any outfit look super stylish. I feel they can look so cool with pants or with a short-knitted dress.

missandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpants

A black hat

This is a basic (from my point of view) but also a statement item to wear in autumn and winter. Take my word for it and go get a good quality hat to wear this season.

missandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpantsmissandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpants

I am wearing:

Zara Black Lace Body Top

Hugo Boss White Shirt

H&M Black Faux-Leather Pants

Miss Guided Boots

Zara Hat

Note: If leather pants are not for you, you can add a black pair of skinny jeans for your essentials – the effect will be quite similar. Also, if you prefer dresses to pants, a little black dress can for sure be included in your list. A great alternative for basics instead of a pair of heels can be a pair of army boots (I AM A HUGE FAN); just please do not consider trainers as essentials or basics – they look good only when you work out.

What items do you have in your essentials? Scarves? T-shirts? Please let me know in the comment sections, so I can find out other opinions and add some more on my list. I really value your comments!

Until next time,

MISSANDRADA
