I’ve prepared 10 career tips for women in order to advance in their awesome careers. Continue reading to uncover some secrets I’ve used to achieve job success.

First of all, since the beginning of working times it’s been a bumpy ride for women to achieve success as fast as men. History wasn’t indulgent at all with the ones who wanted to become strong from an intellectual point of view. Therefore, women all over the world have to follow some strategies in order to advance faster in their career. I believe that even if we, females, work hard for our positions we might still have to make our voice heard in the office on purpose. It is in our nature to seem pure and innocent, but leaving the looks behind, I have realised that women are so strong and motivated, we would do anything in the world to achieve what we thrive for. We have proven numerous times that our aspect has nothing to do with our character, that we can work hard and provide amazing results.

However, I believe we should not regard this type of discrimination with hate. We should never give up and moreover, we should see everything as a challenge. I personally haven’t felt a discrimination at work, however I know that this gap exists and some of you might be dealing with it at the moment.

You can prove you are just as strong as a men, follow my career tips for women and advance in your job.

1. Develop a personal brand

Your personal brand should be a reflection of who you really are, of what your goals are and how you wish to inspire the world. You should be original with it, taking into consideration how unique everyone is. Find your niche and create a strong image of your brand.

A strong brand and image will provide career opportunities that will become visible once you start presenting yourself to the world.

Moreover, if your image is clear and on point, the interviewer will get the chance to understand more things about you and your way of working.

Try becoming more visible, because being known in your field comes along with many advantages. Telling your story truthfully will inspire the people around you and provide you popularity in your niche.

2. A well organized CV

Your CV is also a powerful reflection of yourself and of your work, therefore you should treat it with a lot of attention and respect. Always keep it updated and don’t forget to write down every important thing you have achieved during your career.

One of my career tips for women is to always take good care of your CV. First of all, you will need it every time you will be searching for a job. Moreover, as well structured and organised it is, you will gain visibility points and will get higher chances of being hired.

3. Exploit your skills

Everyone is good at something, therefore you should find out what you are best at and improve it. It’s important to always thrive for a better version of yourself and to work for it. Having multiple skills will help you achieve success faster and also to advance in a personal plan.

Exploiting your skills will help you in your life at work considering how important it is to find dedicated and well prepared people. You should become one of the specialists and let everyone realise how hard working and professionally trained you are. These skills you are upgrading will also probably help you for the rest of your life, because once you master them they are not going anywhere.

4. Focus on the results

Once you start completing a task your only worry should be the great results. You have to maintain a floating line and provide great results of your work. It’s much more important to know you have done something at your best rather than finishing it as fast as possible just to prove you are working rapidly. Actually, your good results should not only help you in advancing your career but also in developing it.

Moreover, it is scientifically proven that good results also improve your confidence at work and your level of productivity. Focus on making your work the best that you can.

5. Time and attention

The fifth point I want to cover in my career tips for women is how important is to dedicate a part of your time and attention to your career. After all, you can not build an empire without dedication. Find your time and attention and dedicate them to this important part of your professional life. Of course, you will have to set some boundaries from your private life.

Remember that you will not be able to give the best of yourself if you are exhausted.

6. Build your connections

Your network is an important part of your career. Building connections and making people remember your name is crucial in order to advance in your career. As benefit, you will be more often taken into considered to work in exciting and innovative projects. Let people know about your work and make them remember how dedicated you are. Getting to know the right people will help you on the path to success.

7. Feedback is always constructive

Positive or negative, feedback is always constructive. Learn how to accept your flaws and how your work is seen by other people. Even if you are your own boss, it is important to know what your connections think of your work. In the end, it’s said the the only way to improve in your career is to know what you have to improve. No one is perfect, therefore even if the feedback is negative you shouldn’t let it affect you, you should see it as a great way to start working on getting even better.

Also, positive feedback improves your confidence and your will to work better. Take advantage of your productivity and do something memorable with your career.

8. Career planning

Planning your career will help you know your next step. There is no bad thing in always being prepared for what comes next. Twists and turns often happen during your professional life, therefore if you have everything planned you will know what to do.

Don’t let anything bring you down and also try keeping the path you have chosen. Being determined will for sure help you in achieving success.

9. Be that someone people want to work with

The ninth advice in my career tips for women list is to become that someone that people want to work with. First of all, I believe in the force of attraction – if you are kind you will attract kind people. Therefore, I believe being an amazing colleague will help you in not only working in a better environment but also in achieving great things.

The change comes with you, so if you decide you want to have a great connection with the people around you, start working on your social skills.

Moreover, being this type of person will help you advancing and getting taken into consideration for great projects.

10. Take on new challanges

Sometimes you have got to risk a little. Take on new challenges and explore your horizon. Following the same routine everyday can become exhausting over the time, therefore trying something new from time to time will improve your wellbeing and your creativity.

Those were my 10 career tips for women in order to advance fast into their professional lives. What would you suggest to be the eleventh step?

During my two year employee journey in London, I think I have seen it all: from people getting fired and walking home with their plant, to others not delivering their work or to me deciding to quit a job after two weeks because it was awful. That’s why today, I feel comfortable to start sharing some of my career tips with you. Continue reading to discover 5 ways to deal with an annoying boss.

You will work with so many types of people during your career and will have to face different types of personalities. It is also true that sometimes you will find yourself led by someone who doesn’t connect with you at a great level. This situation can easily become overwhelming and might make your days at work quite hard.

I believe that people get to deal with an annoying boss at least once in their lives, but how do they work everything out?

If you’re finding yourself in this scenario, you must maintain a level of professionalism and learn how to deal with the problem in a positive way.

Here are 5 ways to deal with an annoying boss:

1. Evaluate the situation

First of all, the first step you should follow is to evaluate the situation you are currently facing. Try seeing the problem from another perspective and calculate your boss’s actions. In order to complete this step you must awaken your inner critic.

Own your actions. Decide either or not you are contributing to the negativeness yourself.

One way of figuring this out is to assess his /her relationship with your other colleagues. If you are the only one your boss is having a problem with, I believe is the time to start asking yourself some questions.

It happens many times that people blame others for all the negativity, without looking inside. However, if you were both implicated in the argument, you should admit and take responsibility for your very own actions.

2. Practice empathy

We live in a cruel world these days and empathy can be very much welcomed. Maybe your boss is actually going through something pressing at the moment and he / she is taking it our on you without giving it much thought.

By starting to practice empathy, you are somehow putting yourself in your boss’ shoes. It might be a difficult task, but at the end of the day, it will be worth it. Maybe she / he is dealing with an annoying boss as well, who knows?

Be patient and approach your boss when you feel that it’s the right time. Sometimes you just have to clear things out to maintain a healthy relationship at work.

This conversation can do wonders, maybe you’ll be able to help him / her deal with his problem. In the end, helping someone out is be much more relieving than just ignoring the situation.

3. Understand how success looks like for them

The third tip of my career tips is to understand how success looks like for your boss. Every person has a different perception on what an accomplishment is and how to achieve it. Do some research and find their opinion about how success looks like in your role. You might end up surprised that sometimes, bosses only have the time to care for the results you are showing to them, not the way you are actually building the project.

Once you’ve figured out what matters to them the most, you will be able to see how to please them and what to put emphasis on while presenting something to them.

Your relationship with your boss might become stronger and your days at work will be enjoyable again.

4. Set healthy boundaries

One of the career tips I find quite crucial is to set some healthy boundaries with your boss.

Actually, if there is actually something that you find time consuming for nothing, there’s no shame in admitting you have just the right amount on your plate. Learn the gentle way of saying no and apply it when necessary.

Moreover, if there is something that your boss does and you feel like it’s pushing your boundaries, there is no shame in having a conversation with him.

5. Don’t burn bridges

Many employers might want to get in touch with your last boss before hiring you. A decline or worse, some negative words about yourself can harm your professional life and the development of your career. Therefore, even if it can be really hard not to burn bridges with a person who constantly underestimates and bothers you, it is the best if you maintain a professional relationship.

Remember, this job is not going to define you. You can ALWAYS find a better one. If working with your current boss is becoming a true nightmare, you might start considering changing your current workplace. Life’s too short for someone to make your days at work impossible. Nevertheless, make sure you try to sort things before you go, it’s always best to know you tried everything to make it work.

Altogether, I hope my career tips will be as helpful for you as they were for me.

Let’s chat. Were you ever managed by an annoying boss?

Career Motivation is on everyone’s lips right now. It’s absolutely normal not to feel as driven during this time. However, it’s highly important that you keep going and don’t feel deflated. These are five smart tips that you need to keep moving, even when the world is somehow stuck.

5 Smart Ways to Successfully Motivate Yourself

There are certain times in your career when you might feel down or not driven enough. Most people do change jobs when that happens. At any rate, I personally don’t find that to be the solution. It might work for the short term. Also, it seems just another way of running away from the problem. Career motivation is key when battling these feelings. But, how do you tackle it?

Get the head space you need

When you’re working full-time, there is not too much time for yourself. Create an early morning routine (I know, I said EARLY) that will get you valuable time to plan. Also, World leaders, CEOs, Founders – they all have early morning routines.

During this time, before you start work, you can either: learn something new, meditate, workout and plan your day ahead. Equally, it’s important to have some time for yourself to bring yourself back to your motivated self. After all, you will feel that you’ve accomplished something for yourself as well. A great start to your day will already make it more interesting.

Moreover, especially if you learn something new maybe about skill improvements at your day job or other technical skills, you’ll want to apply them straightaway. It will make your workload more fun because you’re learning something new that can be tested at your company. No company will refuse you doing more things, so just go ahead and ask if you can implement some tweaks here and there. They’ll really like it because it will benefit them as well.

Subsequently, finding this valuable time for yourself will do wonders to your career motivation. As a result, you’ll be more creative, more willing to try out new things and assess your career journey.

Make room for amazing resources

Here, I’m both referring to physical room and ‘room’ in your own life. Keep on reading to find out what I’m talking about.

Generally, they say that ‘Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body’. I remember sitting in this giant conference call at the Genting Arena in Birmingham. Tai Lopez was the next guest speaker. If there’s one thing that I took away from his keynote is how important reading books is. At any stage of your career or life. He reads everything online, but his main focus are books. As a matter of fact, reading entrepreneurial books or career oriented ones really inspire me. It stayed with me because I’ve had completed reading seven books in one month (January), so it reminded me of my habit.

Therefore, make room in your life to read. Squeeze in a chapter during that quiet time in the morning or before you go to bed. Put your phone on the side and focus on reading. However, if you prefer physical books, ensure you already have the space to store them.

In addition, there are so many motivational resources that you can use to lift your spirits up. I personally love podcasts! Two of my favourites are The Audio Experience by Gary Vee and the Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis.

Follow your favourite mentors EVERYWHERE

In today’s World, it might be challenging to find and have a mentor that you’ve personally met. I’ve been lucky enough to look up to someone at my workplace, but now I have to use digital resources that my online mentors produce.

Nevertheless, looking up to someone who ‘has made’ it is such an easy way to motivate yourself. However, remember this, if he can do it, you can do it too. It’s all in the mindset.

Furthermore, search everything that they’ve produced: YouTube Videos and interviews, podcasts, their own websites, follow their content on social media.

Curious to know who inspires me?

Just go out there and do it

At the same time, I know it may be hard and it may feel very challenging to get your career motivation back. Not to mention motivation doesn’t happen overnight. So, you might feel like giving up. It’s important to acknowledge that.

But, being in that state of mind all the time will tremendously impact you. However, what can you do about it?

Firstly, you need to realise that this state does not define you. Therefore, acting upon it should become easier. So, don’t identify with this. It’s just a phase and with your help it shall pass.

Secondly, after you’ve identified your mentors and came up with a plan of action to boost your daily activities, don’t give up. Nevertheless, continue to educate yourself, to read and network with others.

Job interviews can be nerve wracking as emotions can easily takeover and make you forget your thoughts. Today, I’m sharing with you my 10 tips on showing confidence in job interviews that will make YOU bag the job you’re dreaming of.

Be on TIME

Remember the basics. Be at least 10 minutes early for your interview. Think about what happens behind the scenes. Your interviewer will receive a call or email from reception saying that you’ve arrived. This will give them piece of mind that you’re on time and they can follow their day agenda even after they finished meeting with you. Be on time and you’ll score bonus points.

Change your perspective

Job interviews are dialogues, an opportunity for the company to get support and your opportunity to help out. It’s not just one way. They basically need you more than you need them because there are so many companies who are recruiting, but only one you. Bear this in mind next time you’re sitting in an interview.

Look the part to play the part

Look professional. You need to look like you’ve already bagged the job. You want your interviewer to believe that you fit in perfectly. The look really depends on your industry, so make sure you do your research before your interview day. For most industries, wear a blazer and a skirt if you’re a lady or a blazer and pants if you’re a man.

10 Tips on Showing Confidence in Job Interviews | Bag the Job

Show your expertise

Everything you say needs to link back to your work experience. There are studies which show that people trust experts more. Make sure you talk like one and expect your interviewer to really trust what you’re saying.

Speak with confidence

Make sure you speak with confidence. Your interviewer, most likely future manager needs to trust you to get on with the job. Be confident and make eye contact. Sometimes, nerves can make us speak fast, so make sure you’re controlling your speech by speaking slowly but with confidence.

Make sure you give them insights

Presenting your interviewer with blank information about your past experiences won’t do. Make sure you include insights, data and numbers when it comes to your performance. Even though you’re not a numbers person, make sure you know your facts and figures before going for your interview. You can use percentages to make the conversation flow nicer and don’t forget to present them with averages in your industry and give examples of situations when you surpassed them. By doing this, you ensure that your interviewer clearly understands how you performed in your previous roles.

Don’t forget about the basics

Get plenty of food and enough water before your interview. You don’t want to feel low on energy during your meeting.

Ask yourself the tricky questions BEFORE they ask you first

We all have questions we don’t like to answer because they might be tricky. Think about what it could come up and write down your answers. Prepare yourself answering these questions and make sure you nail them.

Drop in sentences from the job description

Got a job spec? You probably do, so please include terms and expressions from this. You’d probably have said the same things, but use other words, so take a look at the job description when doing your preparation. You’ll speak their language and bag extra points. You’ll surely win them over.

Invited to the second round?

Great! I know it’s extra work but if you really want to bag that job, make a presentation with what you can bring to the table in the next 30,60,90 days after joining them. This presentation is not about your orientation around the office, it’s about what YOU can do to solve the problem they brought you on board to solve. Go into enough detail to make them understand your future plan, but don’t go into unnecessary details. It’s your opportunity to pitch yourself.
