Confidence. Such a small word… with such an important role to play in your life. Being confident, especially having confidence at work is key nowadays. Not only you will radiate positivity and happiness once you become the confident person you always wanted to be, but you shall feel much more ready to action your work day. You’ll realise that you have such a special place on this Planet and that no one can be you. That is your power once you start believing in yourself.

However, if you analyse your daily schedule you’ll see how much time you spend working and how that time affects your routine and your personality. Being able to spend time in a positive way at work will have an impact on how you’re feeling after the working hours. Considering this, we can agree that if your day starts promising the rest of the time you have left will also improve and flow with even more positivity.

Confidence at work may seem hard to achieve at first because you might see your colleagues who might be stronger and quite intimidating. On the other side, many employees might have problems at home or might not be able to control their nerves and emotions. That shows. Perhaps you’ll feel caught in a circle of complaining and feeling as low as them. However, once YOU start focusing on yourself and achieve confidence you are unstoppable. You will feel better and the people around you will also take your lead because happiness is such a spreading feeling.

Completely cut the negative self-talk

First of all, to boost your confidence at work  you must cut the negative self-talk out of your life. No one can feel inspired and productive if they are discouraged. Once you start saying to yourself “I can do it”, “I can be better” you will have a boost of confidence and you will start believing these words. It is so important for one to believe in themselves. A positive mindset will help you learn easier and also make you work faster and better.

Always focus on your strengths

Secondly, you shall always focus on your strengths. Everyone has them, everyone is good at something. Find that thing and develop it. Once you focus on your strengths and not on your weaknesses you shall realise how much better is to do something excellently rather than adequately. Your confidence will be boosting after this exercise and you might also realise how great it feels to be good at something, to be appreciated for it. It will comfort you when you are spending too much time over-thinking your weakest points.

Boost your knowledge

Moreover, a constant learning ability will boost your knowledge. How does that affect your life at work?

Well, it is proven that a person who is willing to learn and develop his / her knowledge will have better results and accomplishments. We, as humans are built to learn for the rest of our lives. Even if we are learning how to use a new generation mobile phone or how to boost our confidence, we are still learning something new everyday. It is important to use this human trait in our favour at work. Knowing how certain practices work can boost your confidence easily and make you feel important.

Be curious, ask questions

Also, you do not have to be afraid to ask questions and to be curious. Because after all, while doing this you show that you have a strong willing to learn, to be better and also that you are ambitious. Who knows?! Maybe these traits will help you get into that project that you loved and were afraid to ask about.

Stop trying to achieve perfection

Actually, did you know that no one in this whole world is perfect? Well, as unbelievable as it seems, this is the truth. You have to accept that everyone makes mistakes and that a small or even large mistake is not the end of the world or of your carrier. As long as we keep learning, even from our mistakes we are doing all right. We, as humans, have to move on and always try to be better, but not perfect! Once you stop trying to achieve perfection you can free yourself and take risks or even try taking on new responsibilities. You should improve so much more and feel confident!

Feedback is always a great idea

Taking into consideration our last tip, I can add that a feedback is always a good idea. Either it is a negative feedback or a positive one, now that we established that no one is perfect, you can learn what you are doing right and wrong from another perspective. Of course, your point of view and perception should always be important for yourself, but time to time it is good for you to hear what other people think about your work. You might have the same opinion and if not, you can always try something new.

Always celebrate your achievements

My last tip for you is to always celebrate your achievements. If you reached a goal or got an amazing review after hours of work you should celebrate, YOU deserve it! Acknowledge your success and embrace it. Rewarding yourself will remember you how great you are! I believe there is no bigger confidence boost than a job well done.

All things considered, you can do it! Anyone can! You just have to believe in yourself, have some faith in your work. As long as you have a positive mindset no one and nothing can touch you or your work! This is why boosting your confidence at work  takes such an important part in your life.

Self-isolation shouldn’t get you all bored. In fact, some of you might not have the working from home habit or are used to being on the go very often. But, being stuck at home can be quite entertaining and productive, if you know how to make the best out of it. I’m sharing with you some easy ways to make self-isolation enjoyable that will change the way you do it.

Self-Isolation at Home – The New Norm?

Who would have thought that in 2020, when the world is at its speediest rate we would have to stay at home? Well, definitely not myself and perhaps not yourself either. Since this situation is becoming quite the norm, we all have to adapt. How you want to view this situation, it’s entirely up to you. One of my favourite quotes says that life is a sum of how we react to things. So, how will you react to this?

If you’re doing this, then stop

If you’re thinking that your current situation is painful and you’re staring to lose your ‘sanity’, then think again. The truth is, your situation is really not that awful. The whole thing can be flipped. What you get is: more time for yourself, more time to be productive, save money on transportation, moments to breathe, a positive change in your life and a moment to assess your life situation – were you truly happy before this happened? Be ambitious.

Easy ways to make self isolation actually enjoyable

Self-isolation can be quite enjoyable if you know how to approach it. I’m sharing some easy ways to make self isolation actually enjoyable that work for me.

Have a clear agenda for each day

Having no plan of action can get you stressed and bored in the same time. Keeping yourself busy with your daily plans is a great way of both being productive and entertained. Include different categories here: your side project (eg. blog, content creation), your skills building (re-creation of yourself), your mindfulness plans (eg. meditation, yoga, painting). I keep a weekly & monthly planner – a more organised agenda to plan out everything I want to achieve daily. When I used to go to the office, I would even have these tasks planned by time, but now I can be more flexible, so I’m really grateful for being able to feel less pressure. Get yourself a smart planner, it makes a huge difference.

Wake up one hour before starting work

You might love your sleep, but there’s research showing that getting straight into working after you’ve woken up, it’s harmful for your wellbeing. Instead, wake up one hour before starting work and get ready for the day ahead.

Drink hot water with lemon & propolis

That’s the first thing that I do in the morning. I drink about half a cup of hot water with lemon & propolis to wake my body up. It’s a great source of vitamin C as well. It became a ritual for me. Trust me, you’ll love it.

Prepare a healthy breakfast to kick off the day

Forget having breakfast on the go or eating late at the office. You have all the means to prepare a healthy breakfast at home to kick off the day and actual time to sit down and have breakfast. Isn’t that wonderful? Prepare a healthy breakfast rich in protein and kick off the day. I like to have protein cereal with fruit (banana, strawberry, pomegranate, blueberries), or avocado toast.

Take time to prepare for the day

Take time to prepare for the day. Do 5-10 minutes of guided meditation, do some stretching or yoga and get your day to a great start. See? You’re busy (good busy) already!

Design your perfect, most flourishing environment

Even though you might be working the most part of your day, creating a flourishing environment is key. Scientifically, aromatherapy is the art of utilising plant based essences to harmonise and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It has a deep connection with our spirit, so why not take opportunity to work from home next to a melting wax candle that will lift your mood? Whenever I want to give my living room an uplifting smell, I either choose a Sand & Driftwood scent (Woodwick) or Vanilla Cupcake (Country Candle). I wish you could smell these right now.

Lighting up a scented candle can have the same effect, however if you want to change the smell quite often, wax melts or essential oil might be the ones for you. I would usually light up a candle when I read or meditate before bed, my favourite ones being manufactured by DW or Yankee Candle.

Take useful breaks

Taking breaks while working is key. You can either enjoy a cup of coffee / tea (I vow for my coffee), apply a relaxing face mask, listen to a podcast or read. I’m absolutely obsessed with skin care and masks, so for me, a break looks something like this: face mask, coffee & magazine in my hand! Some people enjoy colouring too, so choose something that works for you.

Exercise or practice yoga

Make sure to include a form of exercising while staying at home for at least 30 minutes every other day. Open the windows wide (who cares about what your neighbours think?) and get on with it. I have some favourite trainers I follow on YouTube for both working out & yoga. Better yet, if you have a back garden you can give that a go.

Avoid scrolling on your phone for hours

Obviously, avoid being glued on your screen for no reason what so ever. Use your time wisely 😉

Hobbies exploration

Now it’s the perfect time to explore some hobbies, who knows maybe you will enjoy new activities that you didn’t know you would before? Come up with some exciting things that you could be doing at home: English / Italian afternoon tea ‘party’, build an indoors den, have an Italian food night and so on. On the hobbies side of things, I decided to explore video making & editing while I have more time on my hands and actually love watching good quality videos. So, expect something fresh & different on my Instagram channel.

Easy Ways to Make Self-Isolation Enjoyable

Invest in your skills

Take this time to invest in your skills. Work won’t look like this anymore, with the work – life line becoming even thiner. Be prepared for the change and become even better at what you do, regardless of your career path.

Be grateful

Be grateful for the life you have. You have a home, loving family and loads of opportunities ahead of you. Remember how lucky you are to be alive and enjoy life.

Plan for the future

Although we might not know how the future looks like, it’s important that we prepare for a new economy, in a way or another. Some will win and some will lose. Use this time to brainstorm how you plan to use it to your advantage.

So, how to make the best out of your self-isolation situation?

Make the best out of your self-isolation by practising some of the tips I’ve shared in this article today. These are 100% working for me at the moment and if some of these will work for you too, then you can call me a very happy person.

Building networks will change in the next following years, considering the shift towards building up start-ups, towards individuals working for themselves and people simply seeking support in their career or personal lives (as these become busier for everyone due to the on the go lifestyle). More and more people acknowledge that their network support is actually very much needed in their own development. I’ve too realised that if I really want to succeed, I need to develop my own supportive network. Keep on reading to find out how to build your supportive network in 2020.

Finding your inspiration can be challenging, especially when you’re always trying to be the best version of yourself. You might feel tired at times of this constant desire to become even better, but in reality, you shouldn’t be. All of us should be capable of realising that we evolve anyway and it should be an opportunity for all of us to enjoy the process, without being too worried when we’re hitting the milestones. I’ve been there and today, I really hope to make a difference in how you seek your inspiration in life and how you enjoy moving. Let’s break down the 5 ways to find your inspiration in life and keep moving.

IMG_3085

Get inspired by reading topics that keep you moving

Reading can tremendously inspire you, if you read the right books for you. I usually read personal development books, emotional intelligence and inspiring business stories. Some books get me so pumped out than I love reading them in the morning for that extra energy boost (alongside my coffee drank straight from my Starbucks bottle on the tube). Find topics that inspire you and open up your mind! As a recommendation, I will put together the books that keep me moving in 2020:

  • Obviously Awesome: How to Nail Product Positioning so Customers Get It, Buy It, Love It by April Dunford:

  •  How to be a Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso (founder of NastyGal). Find it here:
  • The 100-Year Life: Living and Working in an Age of Longevity by Lynda Gratton:

Focus on your side hustle and watch it grow

Whatever that you’re passionate about outside work, make sure you focus on it. Develop a hustle out of it and make your own money on the side. It’s so rewarding to know that thanks to your native talent you earned something even though it’s a very small amount to begin with. Think about it, the opportunities are endless. Your motivation for your side hustle will never end because the rewards are immense. This passion inside of you will keep you moving.

There are many things you can do, but choose one that you know inside of you that you can maintain. You might like interior design like me, but actually love creating clothes, for example. Sew until you become the expert you want to be, find the time you need for your passion and constantly inspire yourself from the projects you have.

Focus on you more than you focus on others

I say this in a very nice way, but focusing on you it’s more important than focusing on other people’s lives. One thing I understood in life is that we’re all on different journeys. Some people get to marry the love of their life while they’re young, some decide not to have kids, some start their own businesses and so on. They all do it for the right reasons for them. You shouldn’t be feeling in any way about other people’s lives. I guess our way of comparing our journey to other people’s, comes from thinking that the grass is always greener on the other side. We all know it, it’s not like that. Focus on you always.

Do things that spark something in you

What small things make you happy? I love listening to music and signing on the street (sorry not sorry if you hear me in Chelsea one day). I like healthy eating and meditation. I love looking my best, so I also go to the gym although I won’t lie and say I enjoy it; I enjoy the results. When I do these things, I feel that I’m winning. Find your things that make you win and enjoy your life.

Thank you so much for stopping by and don’t forget to subscribe to my e-mail list to receive more inspiration.

Hello everyone,

How have you been? Since it’s National Stress Week, I thought it’s the right time to talk about stress and how to deal with it at work from my own rather short experience. It might be tempting to take things to heart in an office environment, but you have to remember that everyone deals with stress in a different way. Don’t take anything personally and focus on making your life easier first.

Self care, wellbeing, mindfulness. They are words that I haven’t really used until recently. As you grow up you start to realise how important it is to look after yourself and spend some extra time for your wellbeing. I’m sharing with you 10 ways to practice self care even though you’re completely new to the subject and have little time to assign to it.

Start short sessions of meditation

If you haven’t practiced any type of meditation before, a great place to start would be an app or an audible playlist. There are apps out there that help you meditate; it’s such as having your own personal coach guiding you through meditation everyday. I started my meditation series with Simple Habit last summer by listening to a shooting voice teaching me all about breathing techniques, the power of our imagination to bring happy thoughts and becoming more positive, just before drifting off to sleep. I’m always looking forward to that moment of my day, either that’s 5 or 10 minutes I can dedicate to it. Have a look on app store / google play and pick one app that works for you – usually they’re free, but you can upgrade to unlock other meditation exercises if you’d like to. The fun part is that you can meditate on your commute, as soon as you wake up in the morning, on your work break or while in bed at night. Whenever works for you.

Take moments for yourself

This might sound straightforward, but not a lot of us do this consciously. You might have a lot on your plate right now, from juggling work to doing your daily house keeping stuff, socialising with people, taking time to sort your other projects. These things take a lot of energy out of you, without you realising it. It’s not like going to the gym for 20 min and then feeling exhausted right away. No. A busy schedule will make you tired in the long run. Say you’ll feel it at the end of the week or month. When you realise you’re involved in too many things at once, create a schedule and allow yourself to take a breather. Right in the middle of my day I like to disconnect by going to the gym / for a run, by doing yoga or by just watching an inspiring video. It’s very important that you consciously realise that the moment is for yourself, for your own wellbeing.

Be grateful

I’ve learnt this during my meditation practices; being grateful that we’re alive and that we’ve had so many accomplishments this far is an amazing deed that we can do for ourselves. Be grateful and put things into perspective, you have a whole life in front of you to create even more great accomplishments & wonderful memories. It works like magic for me and I truly recommend you try it. You’ll notice positive thoughts running through your head at random times of the day.

Allow yourself to experience emotions

Either good or bad, emotions need to be let out. We all have rough days when we can’t feel as positive. Allow yourself to just be! Don’t feel pressured to feel something else than you’re experiencing. For as long as you need. Then, try to get back on your positive vibes. It’s important to acknowledge the feeling and then move on.

Enjoy ever mouthful

Having time to fully enjoy your meal is vital. Take at least one meal a day where you sit down and eat your food without doing something else (eg. working). While we eat dinner, me and Andrei like to either chat or watch an entertaining video to disconnect a little bit before we go back to working on our projects. I recommend you do the same and have that as your daily objective. You’ll feel so much better at the end of the day.

Don’t judge yourself too harshly

We all have our own plans and objectives. Some of us even run our businesses while working full time and that means juggling a lot and accomplishing a lot on both plans. The mistake some of us do is judging ourselves on the daily instead of focusing on the yearly. What that means is that if one of your posts as a blogger didn’t do well today or if your sales are down today, that’s not a big deal at all. Look at it from a year’s perspective, did you grow your views / following or did you make more sales than last year? That’s your KPI and should feel proud. That’s something that I started doing recently and it definitely opens up a new perspective.

10 ways to practice self love missandrada.jpg

Avoid running into stressful situations

Ahh, I used to be the queen of running into stressful situations in every circumstance because I wasn’t organised enough. Of course there are situations like that even today, but they occur less because I’m tired of not organising myself and forgetting small pieces of the puzzle. Say you need to go on a short trip, you might want to plan you outfits in advance, do your research on all the places you want to see (including the distance between them) and pack some extra helpful items such as an umbrella, plasters. You’ll save time deciding what to wear in the morning and those nice things you wanted to see might be on your way and run into them randomly during the day while you’re out and about! Same goes for going to work and planning your meals. Just give an extra 5 minutes of planning and you’ll be running into less stressful situations.

Relaxing bath

It’s a cliché, but taking a relaxing bath really has the power to make you feel more at ease. The sweet scent of your bubble foam or oils, the lukewarm water and the lit candles contribute to lifting your mood and inducing you into a state of relaxation. Even 20 min of soaking will make a difference. These are moments you can take for yourself and choose health over any work you might have due. Everything else can wait and it’s ok.

Practice your hobby

We all have one! It can be painting (mine is), playing an instrument, reading or cycling. In today’s world where we’re pressured to do everything we need to do, there is literally little time left for practicing our hobbies. Although that is the case, we still need to find time for hobbies. That half an hour of cooking can easily be reduced to 15 minutes if you’re looking at the right recipe. Cut time on mundane activities and allow yourself more time for some fun stuff! It’s all going back to being organised.

Declutter & disconnect

Besides decluttering your home, it’s important for your mind to declutter your email box (yeah that one running out of space now) and your iPhone that is running out of space. I only keep my phone on silent mode because who needs to hear all those alerts? It’s a good idea yo disconnect from your phone or social media life when you get home from work and a little bit before bed. Choose meditation instead if scrolling on feeds.

Self care is highly important and the more we focus on our mind, the better we perform in other areas of our lives: relationships with others, daily activities, planning your time. I hope you enjoyed this post and that will make you start practicing self-care from now on, or add a different activity to your current routine. Which one of these tips would be the easiest for you to take right now?

Hello everyone,

As you might have seen on my social media channels, it was my birthday yesterday. I’ve just turned 24 and I feel incredibly powerful. Yes, I feel powerful because my life experiences have made me feel confident. This article is about sharing what I’ve learnt in my life so far, aiming to ‘inspire’ (quotation marks there because I don’t really like that word) you to look at certain things from a different light.

lifelessons missandrada.png

Always trust your instinct

It might be scary and even too much sometimes, but if your instinct is telling you something, just trust it. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t come up with a rational plan for your actions because don’t get me wrong, we’re rational beings as we are emotional, but use your instinct as a guide. Mine was never wrong, or better yet, mine always led me to beautiful destinations and I’m sure yours will too.

Don’t let anyone bring you down

Some people will always think they know better about everything. They don’t. No one knows what’s best for you better than yourself. If someone tries to bring you down and not giving you actual advice or ‘feedback’ (careful with this feedback though because it’s not well intended all the time), there’s no point to listen to their opinion. You know phrases like ‘I’m not sure if you should do that’ or ‘I think your priorities are not set straight’, I personally understand where they come from, but it’s important how the person communicates it to you. These two affirmations show lack of knowledge because no one can ever tell you which are your priorities. Don’t let other people bring you down with the way they speak to you even though it’s non-intentional. Use positive words and explain how that can affect your relationship. If they do want to bring you down, just distance yourself from that poisonous relationship. Easy!

Believe in your own power to succeed

Cliche or not, this is one of the best pieces of advice I could give you. I touched on the importance of believing in your own power to succeed in this article. If you haven’t read it yet, have a look at it for a more in-depth chat. What I would love for you to do right now is to picture where you want to get and believe with your whole heart that you have to get there. Guess what? You will! There were situations in my life when I had to believe in myself and my power to succeed and without that inner strength I’m not sure that I would have gotten to where I am today. Had to have a lot of strength when I moved on my own at 19 to study marketing in the UK, when I quit my job just to find another one two weeks later and to quit that new one after two weeks because it wasn’t a match! Be bold and don’t look back, as hard as it may be.

See the good in people first

It took me a while to be good at this to be honest. I used to be judging others and be more inclined to dislike new people rather than give them a fair chance. I haven’t analysed why but the point is that now I welcome people in my life and start seeing the good in them from the beginning! I encourage you to do the same because you never know who can become your absolute best friend.

Give your best to make your friends feel amazing

When you have friends over or when you meet up out give your best to make them feel great in your company. Leave your negative vibes aside and be the persons who says ‘you look so pretty today’! When they do stay over, make sure they feel at home. Look at all little details that can make their stay amazing: ear pods, night masks, chargers, welcome gifts, carefully prepare food. Give them a stay to remember. It will make you so happy to offer something from your heart and your relationship will only become better and better.

Give 100% in everything you do

Do things with passion and put your 100% in everything you do: projects, relationships, university work. Only this way, you can be the best version of yourself.

Be DEDICATED to achieving your goals

Sometimes we don’t feel like putting in the work or we often prefer to hang out than put in the effort. Goal achievement is a lot of work, a lot of ups & downs and most importantly is a lot of dedication. Don’t think that people who succeeded did so over night. You need to be dedicated, passionate and absolutely sure you’ll do your best.

Motivate yourself when you’re feeling down

I have some moments when I’m not as motivated, when I’d rather watch YouTube than work out for example. In those moments, I am motivating myself to get out and do it. Having that end goal in mind is so essential when it comes to motivation. Sometimes, I do feel down and I put myself in a better mood by lighting a candle or reading a few pages of a good book. I totally recommend finding your own motivation routine: podcasts, books, videos to keep yourself on the right track.

Get surrounded by people who aspire towards something great

You know how important it is to have people who are doing great around you? Energy is transferable and good energy is really contagious. It’s equally important that your friends not only do great, but aspire to do better all the time.

Don’t give up when things get though

EASY to say, right? Just practice your own motivation techniques and believe in yourself to have the power to continue when things get though. It’s the hard part of the process of evolution, but it’s paying off.

It’s ok to have ‘bad’ days

Yes, you can motivate yourself and yes it may not work one day and that’s ok. Accept yourself. Accept your moods.

Learn life admin things early (moving houses, paying bills, credit cards, buying cars)

Let me tell you, either you like it or not life admin things make you a responsible person. Read online about opening a credit card to improve your credit score, learn how to better pack and move houses, research buying your own car to be less dependent on public transportation. The sooner you learn all these things, the better for you!

Allow yourself a bit of time to learn something new often

One of my favourite things to do is to learn something new about history, interior design or different cultures. I often browse the Netflix section for documentary / lifestyle shows that not only entertain me, but teach me something new as well! It helps me stay updated and grow my general knowledge which is something I highly value in everyone.

Learn how to love

Learn how to love and do it selflessly.

Love your family, life partner and friends with all your heart

Love them with all your heart and offer them your time because it’s the most precious gift, after actual gifts.

Invest more money in travelling and cool experiences rather than shoes

Experience, travelling and embracing new cultures = that’s what life is about for me. Shoes and other goods are important too, but they come second 😉

Have relaxing moments with yourself

Run a bath, watch something relaxing, paint. Allow yourself to relax!

Find happiness in something good that you do

I recently discovered my passion for interior design. I design rooms on my Ipad or read about the subject online and it makes me so happy. I also love cooking healthy food and enjoy every mouthful!

Always aspire to grow on all plans

Grow and look at your performance 🙂

Enjoy every single moment of your life

This one speaks for itself!

Show your appreciation to others sooner rather than later

Show appreciation as soon as you feel it! Don’t hide your feelings.

Don’t judge and don’t moan & groan

Stop judging and instead of complaining about situations, find positive things to talk about. You can’t change the past, can you? You can only focus on what’s to come.

For fellow bloggers out there, do your thing & people will love you

Express yourself and don’t be afraid to share your thoughts with the world. Stop obessing about the numbers and just to you thing 🙂

Be your own kind of beautiful

Be yourself and enjoy every moment of your life!

Did you notice how in my baby pictures I was always ‘flying’? So funny, I can’t have a traditional picture because I was actually happy while ‘flying around’ haha! I really hope you enjoyed this post. See you soon ❤️

Confidence wasn’t something that I was born with; not at all. I think that during secondary school bullying definitely affected how I felt about myself. It wasn’t just bullying that made me feel unconfident though; it also had to do with the fact that I was different and not really fitting in from my point of view. Luckily for me (and you today), I realised something that made me 100% more confident than I was. Keep on reading to find out what it was!

how to gain more confidence missandrada

My life growing up was really fun I would say, but during a year or two in secondary school I was struggling a little bit with my mental health, especially the way I was seeing myself. I am sure that a majority of you have dealt with bullying or bad jokes in school. Looking back now, it’s not a big deal, but for a kid it’s a HUGE deal because at that age we don’t know who we are and what is our potential. We won’t even listen to our family’s kind words, all we seek is the bully’s approval. However, it stopped at some point and I was able to feel happy that finally I can enjoy my life which was really beautiful anyways! I started analysing myself even more and basically, I was feeling doubtful in myself because actually I was NOT fitting in. I was different. I had a different fashion style. I was an extrovert. I had opinions. I enjoyed different things. And that, affected me a lot. It was like, everything that I was doing had more consequences for me than for everybody else. Was I skipping school because I had a real reason? Andrada is in trouble now. Was I talking to someone during a class? Andrada got kicked out for 20 minutes.  Everyone else could go unnoticed, but not myself. WHY?

how i gained 100% more confidence while growing up for millennials missandrada

Being always present and having a good relationship with lecturers meant that my actions were supervised really closely. Was that a bad thing? Absolutely not. They cared. I realised that being different is not a bad thing. Some people liked me, some didn’t. At least I was authentic and people who wanted me to succeed were supporting me, including the lecturers. Funny, but I only realised this in my last year of high school when actually lecturers were listening to my opinion and appreciating me for who I am & how hard I study. Take it like this, you need to get to know yourself, what you’re capable of and let others know it as well. If you don’t trust yourself, no one will. I finally learnt that gaining attention wasn’t a bad thing and realised I need to turn that in my favour. I gained a certain influence in class too. That massively helped me.

Your turn now!

Be authentic

It’s being written everywhere and you’re probably BORED out of your mind. Trust me, being authentic is really important in a world where people can be really fake and sometimes not because they want to, but because they’re afraid to be themselves. Be who you are because by knowing who you are, you nail down your strengths and start to grow your confidence. Starting point: write down 10 things you really like about yourself and celebrate your own self! It’s such a confidence booster!

Believe in your power to be successful

If you believe in your power to succeed and actually achieve all your plans, your mind will send great signals to the universe and you’ll be one step closer to the end goal. Not only that, but your confidence levels will go to the roof. You’ll start talking with such passion about your projects and start to believe in yourself more and more!

Enjoy the attention!

With such confidence levels, expect people to be curious. They will start asking you all sort of questions from good intentions ones to some uncomfortable ones just because they can. Learn how to respond to each type of question and enjoy people’s attention. Again, people will be curious, but you shouldn’t let their opinion influence the way you think about your projects or even about yourself. Don’t listen to nasty comments and be happy for people who support you. You’ll be so much more confident!

Influence others with your confidence…

Turn their attention in the direction you decide. Confident people inspire other people and influence them in different ways. Have you noticed how someone who just started a business has a vast knowledge in the subject? They can easily use that to influence others in many areas and gain their respect. Always speak about your projects or plans with great knowledge (don’t boast) and let your actions speak louder than your words. People will see you’re smart and really driven. They will respect and value your opinion. Obviously, your end goal is not to prove everyone your potential, but this will inevitably happen sooner or later.

Have you ever felt like you can achieve a lot more than the results you’re seeing? You know yourself, you have that ambition that sticks to others and makes them become more ambitious, but something is stopping you from taking the leap and jumping right in. I’m going to share with you five tips on becoming your most confident self and turning your dreams into reality. Action your life now!

  1. Say NO to your fear

Believe it or not, what keeps you from achieving your inner goals is your fear of not loosing. Loosing what? The ‘game’ that you tend to turn most of the things you do into. In reality, there’s no such thing as loosing. You simply find different ‘destinations’ according to the path you’re choosing. Eliminate the fear from your mind, stop being afraid of different consequences because your mind is a powerful tool and can easily adapt to any situation. The worst thing that we can do is have expectations and then be disappointed of the reality. It’s like you paint this picture of eating the most delicious meal tonight, but there’s nothing there to guarantee the restaurant or the dish you’re going for will be the best meal of your life. You need to leave mystery and just enjoy your life without planning every single step of your journey. Now you’ll ask me, ‘Ok, but what if I’m disappointed’? You simply WON’T! You need to find a balance within yourself and learn to enjoy moments and outcomes to the fullest.

2. Become your biggest fan

Who can love yourself more than you love yourself? You need to fully love yourself with all you have and truly believe that you will achieve everything you put your mind to. Do more things with yourself and enjoy your own company. The abundant Universe will respond positively to your self-empowerment. Do you have an idea for an online business but people think it’s risky? Forget their opinions. They’re based on their or other people’s experiences. We are all different, what works for you might not work for others and the other way around. Thing is, there is no such thing as risk. I know. Let’s say that again together: there is no such thing as risk.

3.  Start seeing yourself as a powerful person

Do you think you’re powerful? How do you define power within one self? You probably have role models, people who you look up to and admire for their strong personality. Do you know what they have, maybe a little bit more than yourself? Confidence. Being confident will make you powerful. Trust yourself. Believe in your own power. We all have something amazing within ourselves! Don’t let negative thinking bring you down and just focus on your strong characteristics. It’s like in a job interview, you play on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Do the same in life and you’ll live happily!

4.  Speak positively – use your own positive words

How many times do you find yourself complaining during the day? Seriously now, start to notice how many times you say something negative. Moaning about stuff is really natural for some, even for myself. It took me a long time to educate myself to spread less negative vibes and turn my life around. I know it’s not fun and games 24/7 but let’s stop playing the victim. Ultimately, we’re a product of how we react to things happening around us. Our reactions make up the life we want to live. You smashed your favourite glass by mistake? Are you getting angry and start cleaning in a rush? Or are you at peace with yourself and think ‘life goes on, I’ll get a better one tomorrow’? If you’re getting angry, you might cut your finger and one unfortunate event will follow another one. If you decide to be cool about it, you have something to look forward to: your new glass. Notice how your reaction really influences the flow of things in your life. So, start using your positive words and notice their impact in both daily life, but also reaching your goals.

5. Practice the power of daily meditation and positive affirmations

You believe in a positive life. Say that to yourself during a daily meditation. Find a phrase that you really love and make that your motto. Even more than that, stick post-it notes on your fridge, desk or mirror to constantly remind yourself that you’re up to something great. Remember, having an image of your ideal life is great! Don’t feel the need to meet every single aspect of it as we need to keep that mystery we discussed about previously. Let the Universe know that you’re open to whatever goodness is throwing at you. You’re going to become stronger, hence more and more confident as everyday goes by.

High Achievers always challenge themselves; they are in constant progress. The road to success is difficult, but the right mindset can empower you to achieve your life goals. Having the ability to do something, when you would rather do something else is the fine line that separates an achiever from a weak woman or man. When you would rather watch a movie than go to the gym, think about your motivators and what got you started in the first place. Maxwell observed that the new generation is soft and they quit in the moment they are told off. That made me think. I might know more people who show weak traits than strong ones. What can you do to get to your goal?

Achieving your goals

So, what is it that high achievers think about when fighting for their goals? The answer is simple: discipline and consistency; they do things even when they don’t feel like it. They never stop, they are never quitting and they are always progressing. Now think about you, when was the last time you stayed up late to finish your projects or woke up early in the morning to complete a daily goal? It’s so easy to get lazy and just assume you’re going to achieve those things at a latter stage; but chances are that people who run from things are never going to grow. I am not going to lie and say that I am 100% productive everyday when I know that all the time, there’s room for improvement. Reading more entrepreneurial books was a small goal of mine that I was able to accomplish in just two weeks. I was only reading while commuting in the mornings and evenings, as weekends were dedicated to blog research and photoshoots. I trained my brain to read faster between stops and I read two books in two weeks. Look, all I am saying is that if you truly want something, you have a power in you that will make you succeed! Also, surround yourself by people who believe in you and love to see you being successful.

 Style Habits To Have

Clothing that makes me feel powerful is of high interest to me. That is why I want to focus on getting my wardrobe to a point that I love my everyday outfits just as much as I love my weekend ones.  Style wise, were you always on the hunt for amazing clothes, but actually you couldn’t be bothered to style the outfit, try on and iron all the clothes on an everyday basis? I absolutely feel you. It’s just hard when you don’t have that habit. I think it’s just about that, getting into the HABIT of actually doing it. I’ve found a thing that works for me: whenever I have a bit of time during the weekend or in the afternoons, I quickly scan my wardrobe for clothes that I want to wear and get them on a side to be ironed. Then, the next day I’m ironing for half an hour and my wardrobe will shine for the whole week. Try that and let me know how you got on! It’s a wardrobe changer! 💁🏻
