Oh, beautiful France! I’ve just returned from an impromptu visit to Bordeaux and I had an absolute amazing time from sipping coffee on pretty terraces, observing people’s fashion, enjoying the so popular red wine (in its traditional town) to creating content for my blog and social channels. While packing my luggage, I’ve came across different styles of wearing blazers this season and decided I have to try this particular one out! Let’s find out how to best wear your blazers and jeans this season.

Hourglass shaped body?

What I like to do, especially with black blazers is to create a perfect hourglass body shape by wearing a narrow belt around my waist. I don’t normally have a preference when it comes to where the belt is positioned, but in this combination, you want to make sure that the belt is tight enough on your waist (don’t wear this for a bottomless Prosecco brunch though) to create that hourglass shape. When it comes to the perfect belts, my favourite brand is by far Mango – their quality is amazing, although sometimes I might look out for belts in Zara too.

Where to wear Blazers & Jeans

Depending of where you plan to wear this outfit to, you can choose to wear a black top underneath or a hidden bra for a sexier look. I went for a top underneath my blazer (find similar here) as I was going for a wine tasting and it felt more appropriate for the occasion. I would probably go for the other option on a different occasion such as cocktail party or a rooftop event at night. If you’re visiting Bordeaux, you can’t miss the stunning Wine Museum – expect a history rich experience and some delicious wine too. The views from there are simply breathtaking, so I would definitely recommend to bring your camera to take some pictures for the ‘gram – just avoid the crowds because as you can imagine everyone is looking for getting the best shot.

Now, I’m not the biggest fan of jeans to be honest, but somehow a pair of skinny jeans (find similar here) makes this look really stylish; while a pair of black trousers could potentially ‘destroy’ the look. Just have fun with the items you already have in your wardrobe and come up with a few alternative looks: try checked blazers and jeans or white blazers paired with pale pink jeans!

As I know you love a special occasion to celebrate, it’s English Wine Week! There a few cool options on Virgin Experience Days or Groupon such as Cheese & Wine Tasting Experiences or Countryside Vineyard tours that you can absolutely make the most out of. And no this is not sponsored, I just believe that the outfit can definitely go with the options above and might inspire you to do something different as I’m always on the hunt for unique experiences.

It’s time for a closet tour to create this look – tag me @notagirlygal in your Instagram posts while wearing your take on this outfit, I would love to connect with you.

Until next time,

Hello my gorgeous ladies,

Autumn has arrived with its rusty leaves, heavy raindrops, pumpkin spice lattes, candles, but also beautiful knitwear that you can happily wear while strolling around the city. The best news is that you can start wearing your soft knits and skirts together! It’s the perfect combination, which you can only embrace during this time of the year. Get ready to get my best tips on how to wear cropped knitwear in Autumn 2018 and get your outfits to the next level. Grab your hot drink now … and let’s look into it.

Cowl Neck Cropped jumper Crazy about Autumn colours? Amazing! There’s no better time to start wearing mustard tones, grey, dark orange or nude shades. It’s the first time when I embrace Autumn and I’m excited about everything it brings. I can’t believe the colder months will very soon come upon us, but that’s the perfect excuse to start wearing gorgeous knitwear pieces. My top picks right now? The amazing Femme Luxe knitwear collection! Femme Luxe proposes us a new way to embrace the cold season, walking us through the fall and winter’s must haves right on their collection page.

Take me to Paris Outfit

This outfit is so romantic, hence the Paris reference in the title. Imagine wearing this while on a Seine cruise followed by a picnic near the Eiffel Tower on a late September afternoon. Don’t you love dreaming about places you can wear your outfits to? (Until you get there of course).

Femme Luxe Mustard Front Twist Jumper

As you know, I am always looking for upgrading my outfits in a way or another. The stars of this outfit are the Femme Luxe Mustard Front Twist Jumper and the New Look Leather Skirt.  Let me tell you, the jumper is so comfortable and keeps me really warm even if it’s cropped. You should definitely check out their website as their items have amazing prices and great quality. I feel that while we still can, we should wear more crop tops as we don’t have to wrap ourselves in bulky jumpers now!

These pieces look amazing together – and from my point of view it wouldn’t look complete without the white shirt underneath the jumper. You can rock this outfit with heeled boots or over the knee boots for feeling sexy.  Overall, this outfit is giving me Gossip Girl vibes.

Femme Luxe Mustard Front Twist Jumper

Quick Styling Tips: Add cool accessories to your autumn outfits because you’ll make wonderful outfits that stand out a lot! I went for a mustard New Look hairband which goes perfectly with the Femme Luxe jumper. I feel that some portrait earrings would have been a cool addition too.

Autumn Glow Outfit

This one if for those sunny days in Autumn where you wake up rather late and decide to go out for a walk. I’m usually very busy on weekends with blog work to juggle and any socialising I’m planning to do. However, I love the idea of an Autumn walk where you recharge after a busy week. And us fashionistas, can’t live without a cute outfit, so why not put our best skills forward to dress up for any occasion, especially when it’s the weekend and we got that extra time?

Femme Luxe Cowl Neck Cropped jumper

What makes this outfit more casual and street style is the leather jacket on top. I love pairing a cropped jumper with autumn skirts and the Cowl Neck Cropped jumper goes so well in this combination. The jumper is really comfy and its long sleeves make me love it. The New Look checked skirt‘s colours are just perfect for the jumper and ah the belt detail makes me go crazy about this outfit. Add a pair of sunglasses and honey, you’re ready to shine.

Quick Styling Tip: You want your skirt to be body con when you’re wearing loose jumpers. I’m starting love wearing Autumn outfits, can’t you tell?

Here they are…the two outfits that will soon become my go to outfits for this season. I really hope that you found inspiration in today’s post and that you’ll be soon getting your knits on Femme Luxe.

This post is sponsored by Femme Luxe, as always all words and opinions are my own.

Happy beginning of Autumn, everyone! 🙂

I’m genuinely really excited to share these autumn 2018 trends with you! There are a lot of fun looks on runways for this season, but the ones that caught my interest are: bright colours and tweed. Therefore, I thought to create a super ‘on trend’ outfit for you. Let’s dig into it and see how you can easily recreate this cool look.

Bright colours to inspire your Autumn days

Bright colours are still extra popular this season. To be honest, I was expecting them to take the beat seat, but actually they are poppin’.  I only take this as super good news because just think about it: you don’t have to buy anything new to embrace this trend. Just look through your spring wardrobe for the most colourful items and you’re set. I’m sure you have a shirt or a blazer in a crazy colour 💃🏻 I’ve picked out this yellow blazer as it can keep me warm if needed through out these early Autumn Days.

… now, who is in for some tweed?

Bored of them or not, tweed is the thing for Autumn. They’ll never be out of fashion. Did you actually know that its original name was ’twill’, but a London merchant misread the name written on a package received from Scotland and kept advertising it as ‘tweed’. That sounds like something that I could probably do – I have my own names for things just because I read too fast. You can mix tweed with warm bright colours like in this outfit, or you can go for the same colours in your tweed (blue / grey / brown).

It’s your decision if you want to mix the two trends or keep them separate, but this is a cool outfit overall, so I totally recommend trying it. I would love to see you coming up with Autumn outfits and ideas of how we can get excited about this season’s fashion!

Hello there my favourite girls,

For me the whole summer dressing style relies on flowy fabrics, dreamy prints and perhaps some ruffles here and there. When it comes to prints, somehow I always pick stripes, no matter the season (writing this I’m wearing a stripy T-shirt), and I have one best friend that does that too. One day when we were out shopping, we saw this absolute gorgeous stripped jumper… we looked at it, we looked at each other and she said ‘I think we’re good with stripes’ and none of us got it in the end. That was one thing, but I didn’t have anything with stripes for summer. I saw this pair in Zara in the beginning of May, haven’t planned on buying more stripes and decided they would look wonderful with wedges by the Sicilian sea shore. I was so right! Let’s style this outfit together, shall we?

Styling stripy pants

I’m super aware that fashion magazines encourage us to mix patterns with other patterns. Well, unless they’re Dolce Gabbana pants with other Dolce Gabbana tops, I don’t feel it’s safe.  Yes, I don’t like when I see too many patterns in an outfit and yes, I don’t encourage it. I am never afraid to ‘take sides’, but this doesn’t mean I have something against it. I know you know that, I just felt the need to say it, because things are taken way too personal these days.

miss andrada street photography

I always say that a super cool outfit has something interesting about both (top and bottom items). You’ll notice this from the outfits that I’m posting. Here, I am wearing a bra having 2 stripes in front – which you can’t really see because of the big chain necklace. Then, I have chosen a simple loose T-shirt on top. I have found this shirt a while back in a charity shop I believe – it’s just from Zara but it’s made out of this knit fabric that I really like. So, the both make a really interesting top to go with the pants.

Tricks for baggy T-shirts?

My trick for a baggy shirt is making a knot on a side to give it a casual look, but also in this case I needed something less baggy as the pants are baggy enough. Do you know what I mean? Same goes for wearing cloche dresses – you just want to wear them with something slim fit on top.

Keep your colour palette to B&W

I like to wear black and white completely when I wear stripes. It just feels right. It makes me laugh now because I wish I could show you my outfit now when writing this post from Bella Italia in the airport – stripy T-shirt and black leather skirt. All Black and White.

TIP: Create a story for your outfit

This outfit takes me to the flower power times. It has that bohemian vibe. Don’t you reckon? That’s why I love fashion so much. You can get inspired by any look or age and transform it into an outfit. Someone in the agency once told me that everyday I look so different, and now I understand why. I like to play around with different looks and just have fun with it. For me, there’s really little rules to fashion (but I have some rigid ones), it’s more about being able to express myself and feel confident.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a new idea for an end of summer outfit.  How do you like to wear your stripes? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,

Hello there,

The whole purpose of this post is to guide you through packing with those beautiful places you’ll see in mind. Going to Rome? Then you will look amazing in a long white dress next to Fontana Di Trevi. Packing up for Barcelona? That short blue dress would fit right in on Barceloneta Beach. I think you absolutely get what I’m on about here. I will show you an actual example of when I packed for going to Palermo and the Sicilian coast. So, let’s pack and imagine you in that exact scenery.

Start by placing your clothes on your bed in categories (as below)

Think about the colours of the places you’ll see. In my case, I’ve known I will be around the city, so my background would be sandy yellow, orange and white, but also I would spend a lot of time on the beach too. So, I made sure to pack items that won’t get lost in the background. Once you picked out your colour palette for the place, now it’s time to think about how you want your pictures to look like.

How to pack for Summer Holidays 2018 .jpg

Pick items that go well in different combinations

Once you decide on your colour palette, think about creating outfit combinations or pack things that go well together. For example these H&M shorts and the long Zara pants below them can be mixed with different tops. Your look can be casual or sexy depending on what you’re after in that moment.  You can see more examples of how I chose to wear them in my previous post Get the Holiday Look: Sicily Spring/Summer Lookbook 2018.

City Break Packing.jpg

You need at least a one-piece item

What do I mean by that? Having a dress or a jumpsuit would be just perfect! You don’t have to worry about mixing and matching and you’ll be sure you have two outfits to put on and look amazing without the whole fuss. Let’s not mention how cool they look in on the Gram! Example of how I worn the dress:

Pack your shoes wisely

I say wisely because you need comfy shoes that also look amazing! I would go for lace sandals and ribbon trainers – super girly and special! Ah, and don’t forget these perfect wedges – they are my definition of perfect high-heels – they will make any outfit even better.

City Break Packing Shoes

And that’s how I styled what I packed for this 5 day trip on my birthday weekend. Super easy & light luggage as well. You can always follow me on Instagram for more outfit shots at @missandradavonc.

Best of luck with your packing and have a wonderful time wherever you might travel!

Do you love black leather jackets? Me too! Although I didn’t wear one in three years now,  I find leather jackets to be perfect for the transition between spring and summer. Finding the perfect one might be a challenge, so get browsing and follow my tips to choose your own.

History of the leather jacket

You might not know this, but the first leather jacket was created for fighter pilots in the first World War! It only made it in fashion in the 90’s and it remained at the cool item of a wardrobe.

How to choose your leather jacket

Look at the leather’s quality

That’s a pretty straight forward advice, but do look out for the leather’s quality. Signs of early damage while it’s already on the store’s hanger has to make you forget about it. Just imagine how many damages it will suffer from while you’re wearing it. If it’s NOT super soft, then the leather will pass the test of time and look its best after you’ve worn it for a while.

Check the interior fabric

Assuming you’re buying it for Spring, you still want to check its interior. If it looks that it will keep you warm enough for chilly afternoons, then it will make a really good buy. The last thing you want is to freeze in it while sipping cocktails on a rooftop.

Select the right length

I love it when its length is just above my waist. If it’s longer than that, there are chances for me to not like it just as much. That length makes you look taller and goes with pretty much any style: worn with a jumper, over a dress or over a short top.

Look out for quality zippers

The zippers have to be of good quality because you want your jacket to look on point. Zippers can both ruin and lift up a jacket, so stay close to the quality ones.

miss andrada spring outfit leather jacket.jpg

Get the right fit

I can’t stand leather jackets that are baggy and loose. For me, the right fit is the one that stays tight to your body. It makes you look uber chic and ah did I mention you can wear it with a dress in spring?

Clean it regularly

There are different special cleaning solutions you can use for its maintenance. The leather can break, so in order to prevent this from happening you might want to give it a rigorous clean once in a while.

Convinced? Then go ahead and find your perfect one ☺️tag me in your posts and ask me any questions related to your search below!

Hello lovelies,

It’s all about Spring here on MissAndrada.com; it means it’s time to start wearing some fun & colourful outfits, even though the sun is not out every day in the U.K. Colour brings me another reason to smile throughout my day and I’m sure it will make you just as happy as it makes me. During London Fashion Week, I haven’t seen too many pastels in the collections for Spring and to be honest I was really ok with it. This season is promised to be bolder in colour and textures, so let’s dive in two outfit ideas that you can definitely pull off.

We have a guest on the blog today – it’s one of my best friends, Augusta, who is as passionate about all things fashion & beauty just as I am. So, twinning in a couple of shoots while she was down to London was a ‘Yes, we should do this even though I’ll be there for 3 days’ kind of thing. A massive thank you to her as I’ve always loved to twin in my photos with another cool girl!

Option One: Red Tailored Blazer, Checked Tunic Dress & Knee-High Boots

miss andrada spring outfit ideas

Short tunic dresses are wonderful for Spring – the crazier the print, the better. Make the outfit more fun by adding a splash of colour; we went for red and as you can see, we matched it with black and white to make it pop more. The sunnies are the cherry on top for this one! Wear it with knee high-boots if you choose fishnet tights to make the outfit look less provocative.

Option Two: Mustard Silk Shirt, Fish Net Casual Dress & Over the Knee Boots

15

If you prefer a less elegant look, then a casual dress paired with over the knee boots would be the go-to choice. How to add colour to it? Just pair with a colourful shirt and over the knee boots. Rock the city!
