Happy beginning of Autumn, everyone! 🙂

I’m genuinely really excited to share these autumn 2018 trends with you! There are a lot of fun looks on runways for this season, but the ones that caught my interest are: bright colours and tweed. Therefore, I thought to create a super ‘on trend’ outfit for you. Let’s dig into it and see how you can easily recreate this cool look.

Bright colours to inspire your Autumn days

Bright colours are still extra popular this season. To be honest, I was expecting them to take the beat seat, but actually they are poppin’.  I only take this as super good news because just think about it: you don’t have to buy anything new to embrace this trend. Just look through your spring wardrobe for the most colourful items and you’re set. I’m sure you have a shirt or a blazer in a crazy colour 💃🏻 I’ve picked out this yellow blazer as it can keep me warm if needed through out these early Autumn Days.

… now, who is in for some tweed?

Bored of them or not, tweed is the thing for Autumn. They’ll never be out of fashion. Did you actually know that its original name was ’twill’, but a London merchant misread the name written on a package received from Scotland and kept advertising it as ‘tweed’. That sounds like something that I could probably do – I have my own names for things just because I read too fast. You can mix tweed with warm bright colours like in this outfit, or you can go for the same colours in your tweed (blue / grey / brown).

It’s your decision if you want to mix the two trends or keep them separate, but this is a cool outfit overall, so I totally recommend trying it. I would love to see you coming up with Autumn outfits and ideas of how we can get excited about this season’s fashion!

Heya,

Hold back the layering for now! We can still play around with our summer wardrobe, although I know, one fresh ‘autumn full of clothes’ closet is waiting for you. Well, let it wait a little bit more, because today we’re looking at adapting your summer style to early autumn.

Adapting your summer wardrobe

Let’s talk about what you can actually keep from your summer wardrobe.  My one and only rule: if you’re not feeling cold while wearing it, it’s acceptable to wear in fall. I am usually cold in sheer tops in early September, but I’ve seen other women feeling comfortable in them. It’s all in how you feel. In my case, I will keep blouses that have fabrics that will keep me a bit warm, to avoid wearing other layers. And with all the heat we’ve got in summer, I feel like I can face the weather challenges of September without embracing the onion style since the beginning. Ah, and your sunglasses are still a must!

Next… transform it?

It might be just me, but statement jewellery goes amazingly well with autumn outfits. I’m not wearing a lot of big jewels in summer because it’s way too hot sometimes. Autumn outfits can get a bit similar but I always save them by wearing a nice piece like this one below. Pretty cool, right? You will notice that by the jewellery you’re adding, the outfits will completely change.

Make-up for Autumn

A hint of dark blush, a bit of highlight and most importantly dark lips = my secret recipe for autumn make-up. I even gave up my eye wing for it. Can you believe this? You can even choose nudes and a peachy make-up!

Besides wearing the boyfriend ripped jeans, I don’t wear blue jeans anymore. I opt for black skinny jeans over them at any time and I like to get new ones for the new season, so they look fresh and ready to go. One suggestion that I have is try to buy them in the summer sale – they are way cheaper and you only need them one month later.

TIP

Keep your colours fun – one of the highlights of Autumn Fashion from AW18 is that bold colours are back on trend. I will make a post on that soon 🙂

Thank you for very much for reading! Hope it was fun to explore transition outfits from summer to fall, together!

Love,

The dresses and outfits women wear around the city this summer are making you wonder ‘How can they wear these so easily?’ or ‘I don’t think I could pull off that colour’? It’s not about wanting to look like them, but maybe it’s their confidence that you admire. Today, I’ll give you 5 amazing tips on how to feel super confident while dressing in your own way!

How to feel confident in whatever you wear

Own that colour by knowing you’re admired and don’t mind the envious stare

Let’s assume you love to wear an unique colour. Don’t mind the stare at all. Some people might appreciate your outfit and not show it, or show it in a wrong way. Although more and more women stared to show appreciation to other women, not all of them do. We still get that envy look sometimes, but it’s important for you to know that the envy comes from their inner frustration. They will may or may not realise that they’re not happy with themselves and that the feeling of envy (also linked with physical pain in our brains) is really harmful to them. As easy as it sounds, just don’t mind envious stares and only focus on feeling like yourself in that colour. Why wear only the ‘trending’ colours just to fit in if you would rather go for a different one?

Take pictures in your chosen outfit when you’re going out to fall deeply in love with it

Are you loving your outfit? Perfect, that’s what I love to hear. But you’re still unsure if it looks great on you? My top tip would be to wear it when you have your favourite drink by the river or in a fabulous spot and take some pictures in it from different angles. You might be surprised by how much you actually believe in that outfit. Sometimes, staring at your mirror just isn’t enough. I have the example right here, when I first saw this dress at a Spanish Boutique on the hanger, I wasn’t super sure about it. I then tried it on and was a bit more convinced. It wasn’t until I’ve seen it in pictures that I felt in love with it. It’s now one of my favourite dresses in my wardrobe – such a statement here!

miss andrada 5 tips on how to have confidence in what you wear

Get your best friend’s opinion

Sometimes, the confidence boost is coming from the friends that we trust. They’ll be honest with you and you can choose to listen or not. Just guessing that you should in this case, as it can help you made up your mind if you’re unsure. So, asking a friend for feedback is definitely helpful!

Keep telling yourself you’re powerful and beautiful

I’ll let Tyra tell you more with her sassy snap. The truth is that you need to be your own best friend and back yourself up every single day! You need to be your biggest supporter in every decision you take style or life wise. Feeling confident is sexy!

Make your style your signature

If you’re working out a style that represents your personality, you’re never going to feel insecure. It will be 100% your signature and no one can or should tell you it’s not suitable. If you believe in yourself, everyone else will as well. You can always count on that.

What is that one thing that makes you believe in yourself more? Let me know below ❤️

Hello there,

The whole purpose of this post is to guide you through packing with those beautiful places you’ll see in mind. Going to Rome? Then you will look amazing in a long white dress next to Fontana Di Trevi. Packing up for Barcelona? That short blue dress would fit right in on Barceloneta Beach. I think you absolutely get what I’m on about here. I will show you an actual example of when I packed for going to Palermo and the Sicilian coast. So, let’s pack and imagine you in that exact scenery.

Start by placing your clothes on your bed in categories (as below)

Think about the colours of the places you’ll see. In my case, I’ve known I will be around the city, so my background would be sandy yellow, orange and white, but also I would spend a lot of time on the beach too. So, I made sure to pack items that won’t get lost in the background. Once you picked out your colour palette for the place, now it’s time to think about how you want your pictures to look like.

How to pack for Summer Holidays 2018 .jpg

Pick items that go well in different combinations

Once you decide on your colour palette, think about creating outfit combinations or pack things that go well together. For example these H&M shorts and the long Zara pants below them can be mixed with different tops. Your look can be casual or sexy depending on what you’re after in that moment.  You can see more examples of how I chose to wear them in my previous post Get the Holiday Look: Sicily Spring/Summer Lookbook 2018.

City Break Packing.jpg

You need at least a one-piece item

What do I mean by that? Having a dress or a jumpsuit would be just perfect! You don’t have to worry about mixing and matching and you’ll be sure you have two outfits to put on and look amazing without the whole fuss. Let’s not mention how cool they look in on the Gram! Example of how I worn the dress:

Pack your shoes wisely

I say wisely because you need comfy shoes that also look amazing! I would go for lace sandals and ribbon trainers – super girly and special! Ah, and don’t forget these perfect wedges – they are my definition of perfect high-heels – they will make any outfit even better.

And that’s how I styled what I packed for this 5 day trip on my birthday weekend. Super easy & light luggage as well. You can always follow me on Instagram for more outfit shots at @missandradavonc.

Best of luck with your packing and have a wonderful time wherever you might travel!

The 2018 Way to Effectively Layer Your Clothes

Hello there,

If you’re in the hunt for really warm clothes and you believe puffer jackets are the only solution to the current situation, layering can really come in handy if you don’t like feeling wrapped up every single day. There are no big news here as you probably layer your outfits already without necessarily realising you do so. Keen to switch the usual ‘winter jacket’ for a cooler alternative, I began researching ways of dressing appropriately for winter. What can I do differently to change the way I’m creating my outfits to fit my current needs? Today, I’m happy to share with you my proved and effective layering strategy for the coldest months of the year.

First step: Tops tops tops

Mention the word basic top and I will be the first one to say: I need more! As basic as they are and as easy to find they are, I am currently having only six or seven to use for layering. I found it really useful to own basic tops in different colours based on the shirt colour to be added to it. I feel that a black top should not be mixed with a white shirt as it will look really tacky – it’s similar to matching the underwear to the clothes you’re wearing. There’s nothing more disgraceful than a black bra underneath a white shirt. I like my tops in black, white, pale pink, and nude as I have quite a lot of shirts / blouses from that colour palette. Add as many different colours as you like based on your wardrobe colour range. You will instantly see the difference in the final look.

The 2018 Way to Effectively Layer Your Clothes

Hot Tip: So, as you probably guessed, the first step is getting your tops to match the shirts’ colours.

Second step: Shirts & Bottoms

Depending on the outside temperature, you can choose between a full-length arm shirt or a T-shirt. The beauty of layering is that you don’t have to pack your wardrobe with jumpers as a top and a shirt will do the job if the third layer is done right.

You can choose between a pair of pants or a skirt. If you choose a skirt, pick a pair of winter tights. I usually wear pants, but there are some exceptions of course.

The 2018 Way to Effectively Layer Your Clothes

Hot Tip: Go for cool designs in your tops. A printed logo T-shirt, a lace blouse or a stripped shirt will do miracles to your outfit. Details always make the difference between a boring and a “wow” outfit. Bring your inner artist to the game!

Step number three: Blazers and Cardigans

If there are two things I LOVE to have in my wardrobe, they would be blazers and fellow cardigans. I call them fellow as they’re comfy and always there to help you feel warm & ready to fight the cold weather. After all, they are probably the most important layer of all (closely competing with tops). Be consistent with your colour scheme: three or four colours per outfit should be enough to create a well put-together outfit. Any outfit made out of more than four colours will make you look sloppy.

The 2018 Way to Effectively Layer Your Clothes

Hot Tip: Choose a wool blended cardigan / winter blazer to go on top of your shirts. Be careful not to use more than three – four colours overall when putting together the outfit.

Step Four: The Winter Jacket

An ultimate layer to your outfit would be the beloved (or not) winter jacket. Make sure it has a wool blend to keep you warm. There’s no harm in having two or three winter jackets in different styles and colours to complement your outfits.

Hot Tip: Choose wool blended jackets that come in different lengths & styles. You can adjust one winter coat to the length of your skirt, so the latter is not longer than the former.

Optional Step for BOLD girls: Statement Accessory

An accessory won’t make you bolder but it can help you express your strong personality. As  designer Michael Halpern said Right now, people need fantasy from fashion. I believe his remark is 100% true as it perhaps relates to the concept of people loving story telling. The more you create stories around your outfit, the more empowered you will feel. My go-to accessory for the month is this green beret that I’ve been wearing quite a lot.

The 2018 Way to Effectively Layer Your Clothes

Hot Tip: Embrace statement accessories and wear them with the confidence you have in you.

Psst: Don’t forget about your winter boots.

Hi girls,

It’s Autumn already – that great transition between summer and winter that always gets us questioning what would be the perfect items to wear. Don’t let yourself too influenced by the ‘latest’ trends that try to make you run to the shops and buy all the ‘new-in’ items. Evaluate really well whether you need THAT or not. Let’s say the new item consists of a ripped T-shirt. Chances are that you will only wear it once or twice. So, why invest in something that will only occupy space in your wardrobe? Today we’ll talk about the five items you need to conquer the autumn fashion.

First of all, a wardrobe is really complete if you own basics, but know how to match them with different accessories / clothes. Why should you have basics? Simply because you can also wear them on their own, but it would be really easy for you in the future to assign the basics to different styles to create great outfits. However, let’s talk about the basics now –a mix and match blog post is coming up soon.

It’s important to have your essentials in black or white so when you add other clothes, you will keep the chromatic balance – as you should never wear more than 3 colours at once.

A Black Body Top

The black body top is a must in every woman’s wardrobe.  It looks amazing underneath a cool jumper or shirt and it will keep you warm during those rainy days.

A minimalist white button-down shirt

There is no need to tell you about the wonders a white shirt can do an outfit. You can knot it in front or tuck it in. I wouldn’t wear it untucked (at least in front) or unknotted, just because I believe it can make the body look big and bulky, unless I wear it on top.

A pair of black faux leather pants

Ah, how much I love these! Faux leather pants can spice up an outfit and make you feel like you’ve just walked out from a rock music video.

 Black Heel Boots

A pair of heel boots can make any outfit look super stylish. I feel they can look so cool with pants or with a short-knitted dress.

missandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpants

A black hat

This is a basic (from my point of view) but also a statement item to wear in autumn and winter. Take my word for it and go get a good quality hat to wear this season.

missandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpantsmissandrada-autumn-essentials-whiite-shirt-hat-black-leatherpants

I am wearing:

Zara Black Lace Body Top

Hugo Boss White Shirt

H&M Black Faux-Leather Pants

Miss Guided Boots

Zara Hat

Note: If leather pants are not for you, you can add a black pair of skinny jeans for your essentials – the effect will be quite similar. Also, if you prefer dresses to pants, a little black dress can for sure be included in your list. A great alternative for basics instead of a pair of heels can be a pair of army boots (I AM A HUGE FAN); just please do not consider trainers as essentials or basics – they look good only when you work out.

What items do you have in your essentials? Scarves? T-shirts? Please let me know in the comment sections, so I can find out other opinions and add some more on my list. I really value your comments!

Until next time,

MISSANDRADA
