Self investment is something that I’ve started to focus on a few years back and I’m so grateful that I did. I’m honestly recommending doing this to everyone I know.

After all, YOU are the most important person in your life. As long as you’re healthy, happy and focused on your goals, things will go as planned: your productivity will boost, all of your relationships will improve and you’ll get to reach the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of.

The best thing you can invest in after all, is not an object, is yourself.

But, how to do it? Why is it so important?

1. What is self investment?

Actually the definition is quite simple. It’s really when you decide to invest energy, finances and time in yourself. It doesn’t matter if you do it in order to develop yourself, to improve a skill or to enjoy life more.

2. Why is it important? ⭐️

Let me give you a good example here. Let’s say that you invest in a business, and start buying professional equipment, employing good people, improving the schedule, taking good care of its image. Your business will start growing. The quality of its services will get higher and the profit will also grow with time. You will now have a high class business that everyone appreciates and aspires to have.

However, if you wouldn’t have invested anything, the business would’ve remained at the same level it started.

It’s literally the same thing with self investment.

As long as you take good care of yourself you will grow higher and higher. Your skills and qualifications will improve and you’ll finally become the best version of yourself.

3. ETM – Energy, Time, Money ✔️

These are the three most important investments you can make in yourself. Each and every single one of them has its impact and importance in your lifestyle.

Energy – If you invest your energy in yourself, you’ll be able to focus on you much more. Your productivity will increase and the results of your work will improve significantly.

Time – It’s important to use your time very wisely. Remember that we only have limited time in this life. Clear your schedule and think about what YOU want to do. Use your time in order to perfect this version of yourself.

Money – Of course finances are important. We live in the 21st century after all. Use your money wisely and invest some of them in yourself. There are a few things that only money can buy and they for sure will improve your lifestyle.

4. Energy for YOU 💡

How can you invest energy in yourself? There are for sure many ways, but let me give you some examples.

You can go for a run in the morning. This way, you’ll use your energy in a productive and healthy way. Not only you get a chance to clear your mind, but you can also work on your figure.

However, if you’re not into running you can try any other sport. Yoga, swimming, gym training, there are so many options. And all of them will have an amazing impact on your lifestyle.

5. Time for YOU ⌛️

Sometimes, your schedule is literally full from 8am in the morning until evening time or late at night. I get it, we’ve all been there. However, you absolutely need to invest some time in yourself. Take a few days off and go on a trip. I went on a couple of life changing trips in 2021 and it’s the best decision I’ve taken this year.

You can also spare a few hours in order to read a book, watch a movie, listen to some music. All of these recreational activities will help your creativity and productivity grow. You need to relax from time to time in order to achieve your true potential.

6. Money Investments 🌟

Money can buy loads of things. However, if you really want to use them wisely, you should always invest a bit in yourself.

For instance, you can invest in your appearance. In order to be successful you have to look successful. Take care of yourself!

You can invest in programs and courses that will help you perfect one of your skills. You can buy some self development books you wanted to read.

Moreover, you can buy some professional equipment that will make your work much more easier (a new laptop or a professional camera).

All of these things will help you on your way to success.

I truly believe that everyone can succeed, all you need to do is work hard for your dreams. Don’t give up when you’re going through challenges, just keep breathing and chase your dreams. 1. Be aware of your purpose

If you want to succeed in becoming the best version of yourself, you’ll have to know your purpose. You can’t go ahead with your journey without knowing what your goal is.

If you don’t exactly know what your purpose is, you’ll have to start looking for it. Start asking yourself different questions until you define what it is that drives you. And when you realise what your purpose is, your motivation will instantly boost. Even if it might seem like you can’t find your answer, just continue looking, it’s hidden in your inner self. Maybe you can even take a few days off, just to focus on yourself and on what you really want.

2. Don’t be afraid of failure

You can’t start your self development journey if you’re afraid of failure. Everyone has ups and downs in life. It’s completely normal. Once you understand how many things you can learn from your mistakes, you’ll be able to entirely focus on the process. It’s completely normal to be anxious and to only hope for the best, but you know what they say : “The road to success is paved with failures”.

I believe you’ve seen or read at least a few stories of one’s road to success. Therefore, you’ve seen how many challenges they’ve encountered on the way. Without these challenges, their stories would’ve never been inspiring enough and they’d never be able to get to where they are today. Motivational, right? Think about that the next time you face a hard time.

3. Think big!

Don’t be ashamed or afraid to think big! For instance, if you set an easy to reach goal, it’ll be hard to know what your next step is when you’ve achieved the goal. However, if you set higher goals, you’ll be constantly motivated to work hard and to improve yourself on the way. Productivity and creativity will come on the way. Also, you’ll be able to achieve many other important skills and traits on the way.

In order to become the best version of yourself, you’ll have to think big and to believe that you can do it! Without positivity, you’ll fall into dark thoughts and you’ll slow the process of achieving success.

4. Take care of your mind

As I’ve said before, too many negative thoughts can easily harm your mind. Therefore, if you ever feel like you’re falling into your own thoughts and your emotions seem to drown you, don’t be ashamed to consult a therapist or someone who has enough knowledge to support you. It’s important to take care of your mind. Without it, you’ll never be able to achieve your goal.

However, if you don’t feel comfortable going to a specialist, you can at least talk to the people you can confide in. Tell them about your thoughts and free yourself from all the worries. Sometimes, a good chat is the best answer.

5. Free time

Even if it might seem like the harder you work, the faster you’ll achieve your goal, it’s not entirely true. It’s important to take breaks from time to time, in order to gain your energy and motivation back. For example, try not to work too much during the weekends. These are only for your well-being and relaxation. Instead, you can still do productive things. For example, hiking, going to visit another city, reading, jogging all of these examples are amazing for your self development journey. If above I spoke about keeping your mind healthy, now I am talking about keeping your body in shape. Let it relax because after all, your body is your temple, right?

Here are the best lifestyle tips I know about travelling! If want to reinvent the way you’re travelling, keep on reading. Take this as your personal ambition. If you know how to travel correctly, you’ll get the chance to relax, have fun and discover new incredible things.

It might seem quite hard at first. How could you have time for everything in only 5 days of “freedom”? Well, I’ve written this article in order to help you. Continue reading to uncover some of my best kept secrets of travelling.

1. An unexpected journey

If you really want an authentic holiday, stop looking for popular places that everyone seems to visit. If you already know how the city exactly looks like and you’ve seen many many pictures of people in the same place, where’s the mystery?

For instance, you can chose your next travelling place according to the activities you enjoy the most and avoiding the hype. If you like parties, don’t go to Ibiza, maybe you can try Zrce Beach in Croatia. There are alternatives for everything.

You shouldn’t believe everything the media says. Maybe you’ll like other places much more.

2. Get lost??

Well, you can try this little game while visiting. Have a walk whilst at the destination. However, don’t use direction apps. Just go with the flow and get lost. This way, you’ll be able to visit so many beautiful corners of the city. From cute neighbourhoods to huge parks and gorgeous cafes. Sometimes, being too organised won’t improve your holiday experience, but on the contrary.

3. Up in the morning

Well, if you want to have time for everything, you should try to wake up just a bit early in the morning. This way, you’re not wasting time and your day will be much more productive. You can have breakfast and then head out to visit. Spend your day doing interactive things and have some fun in the evening. Maybe once your day is over, you can head to a bar and enjoy the traditional music and party culture from that specific country.

4. Don’t be shy, try some food

One of my favourite lifestyle tips is to try every types of food you might encounter. If you’re visiting a new country or even city, don’t just order something you’ve already had before. Try traditional food without hesitation and discover that country’s culture. It’s so beautiful to respect the values and traditions of the place you’re visiting. Not only you will improve your experience, but you will also discover new tastes and aromas. Who knows?! Maybe they’ll become part of your menu from now on!

5. Respect is key

When you travel to a new country or city, you’ll have to respect the people’s faith, traditions and way of thinking. They might not be like you, but there shouldn’t be place for judgement. You are visiting their home, therefore you shouldn’t only respect them but their country too! Also, if you want to, it’d be nice if you learn a few words or sentences in their language before heading there.

6. A cultural trip

Take a few days from your holiday and use them only for embracing a new culture. Visit museums and understand the history of the place you’ve visited. It’s important to know about a country’s past in order to understand where its situated in the present. You’ll leave wiser, more educated and you’ll be able to fully understand the concept of that specific country.

7. Take photos but…

It’s important to make memories and to capture them by taking some photos. However, don’t spend your whole vacation with a smart phone in your hand, trying to find the perfect angle for your pictures. Sometimes, the best pictures of the things we see always remain in our minds. Enjoy the little moments you have there and from time to time, when you feel like it, take some pics. You can print them when you get home and create a wonderful photo album with all of your experiences.

All things considered, it’s not that hard to improve your way of travelling after all. All you need is to follow some of these lifestyle tips. Right?! Trust me when I say this, books have MASSIVELY help me get to where I am today. From reading about entrepreneurship on a double decker bus at 8am in Central London to owning my own business in 2020 and living my dream. Let’s get into my top five books to read for your own self-development.

One’s biggest goal in life should be to achieve the best version of himself / herself. Growing, learning and improving your skills on the way is one of the most beautiful journeys in life. Therefore, the achievement of knowing how much you’ve evolved and changed over the time is incredibly satisfying.

How can books help you with your self development?

You may ask yourself this question whilst heading to my list below. Well, books are one of the oldest ways of providing and receiving information. Not only reading is a beautiful and relaxing exercise for the brain, but being able to reflect on what you’ve just read makes you better understand the concepts you’re diving into.

1. Feel the Fear and Do it Anyways, Susan Jeffers

Every time you encounter something that forces you to “handle it,” your self-esteem is raised considerably. You learn to trust that you will survive, no matter what happens. And in this way your fears are diminished immeasurably.

Susan Jeffers has seriously updated the game with this book. I remember reading this in 2018 on the Piccadilly Line whilst going to work and all I wanted was to sit there for the whole day to soak all this information in. The author teaches you how to focus on the positive aspects of life and how to control your negative thoughts and emotions. Moreover, she explained the psychology behind people’s actions in such a wonderful way. Turn passivity into assertiveness while beginning another chapter not only in the book, but also in your life! I truly believe that this book has changed my life.

2. Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers , Tim Ferris

The most important trick to be happy is to realize that happiness is a choice that you make and a skill that you develop. You choose to be happy, and then you work at it. It’s just like building muscles.

Tim Ferris interviewed more than 100 world-class performers and made a professional and beautiful guide of habits. The book itself presents advice in order to reach success provided by extremely successful people. Find out how routines and habits can help you accomplish your goals and start your journey of self development with Tim Ferris. This is a must have book for anyone who thrives for being better and more successful.

3. How to Be an Overnight Success, Maria Hatzistefanis

Success is about the relentless pursuit of what you want and hard work is an essential ingredient.

How to be a success overnight is one of the best books to read if you’re feeling unmotivated. The author will make you realise everything is possible and will for sure give you a boost of confidence from the first pages.

Maris Hatzistefanis (owner of Rodial) teaches us how to dream big and still achieve success. With a company built from scratch in her bedroom, she didn’t let anything come between her passion for beauty and her. She wished it, worked hard and in the end, she accomplished her goal. The book tells her story and also includes her advice in order to become a successful entrepreneur. Go ahead and make it work!

4. #GIRLBOSS , Sophia Amoruso

Abandon anything about your life and habits that might be holding you back. Learn to create your own opportunities. Know that there is no finish line; fortune favors action. Race balls-out toward the extraordinary life that you’ve always dreamed of, or still haven’t had time to dream up. And prepare to have a hell of a lot of fun along the way.

Sophia Amoruso made from her book #GIRLBOSS a guide to success. It’s all about sharing her journey to launching Nasty Gal, a fashion retailer company. She proves that being successful actually has nothing to do with how popular or liked you are, the power is in your hands!
