Self development is key if you want to become the best version of yourself. You’ll have to be incredibly confident and get ready to face every single challenge in your journey. It’s wonderful how blessed we are to be able to witness life success stories online. You have everything at your finger tips from biography books to podcasts and vlogs and it’s quite beautiful to let others stories inspire you.

I truly believe that everyone can succeed, all you need to do is work hard for your dreams. Don’t give up when you’re going through challenges, just keep breathing and chase your dreams. If you keep your positive energy up and have enough discipline, I promise that you’ll be able to succeed in no time.

1. Be aware of your purpose

If you want to succeed in becoming the best version of yourself, you’ll have to know your purpose. You can’t go ahead with your journey without knowing what your goal is.

If you don’t exactly know what your purpose is, you’ll have to start looking for it. Start asking yourself different questions until you define what it is that drives you. And when you realise what your purpose is, your motivation will instantly boost. Even if it might seem like you can’t find your answer, just continue looking, it’s hidden in your inner self. Maybe you can even take a few days off, just to focus on yourself and on what you really want.

2. Don’t be afraid of failure

You can’t start your self development journey if you’re afraid of failure. Everyone has ups and downs in life. It’s completely normal. Once you understand how many things you can learn from your mistakes, you’ll be able to entirely focus on the process. It’s completely normal to be anxious and to only hope for the best, but you know what they say : “The road to success is paved with failures”.

I believe you’ve seen or read at least a few stories of one’s road to success. Therefore, you’ve seen how many challenges they’ve encountered on the way. Without these challenges, their stories would’ve never been inspiring enough and they’d never be able to get to where they are today. Motivational, right? Think about that the next time you face a hard time.

3. Think big!

Don’t be ashamed or afraid to think big! For instance, if you set an easy to reach goal, it’ll be hard to know what your next step is when you’ve achieved the goal. However, if you set higher goals, you’ll be constantly motivated to work hard and to improve yourself on the way. Productivity and creativity will come on the way. Also, you’ll be able to achieve many other important skills and traits on the way.

In order to become the best version of yourself, you’ll have to think big and to believe that you can do it! Without positivity, you’ll fall into dark thoughts and you’ll slow the process of achieving success.

4. Take care of your mind

As I’ve said before, too many negative thoughts can easily harm your mind. Therefore, if you ever feel like you’re falling into your own thoughts and your emotions seem to drown you, don’t be ashamed to consult a therapist or someone who has enough knowledge to support you. It’s important to take care of your mind. Without it, you’ll never be able to achieve your goal.

However, if you don’t feel comfortable going to a specialist, you can at least talk to the people you can confide in. Tell them about your thoughts and free yourself from all the worries. Sometimes, a good chat is the best answer.

5. Free time

Even if it might seem like the harder you work, the faster you’ll achieve your goal, it’s not entirely true. It’s important to take breaks from time to time, in order to gain your energy and motivation back. For example, try not to work too much during the weekends. These are only for your well-being and relaxation. Instead, you can still do productive things. For example, hiking, going to visit another city, reading, jogging all of these examples are amazing for your self development journey. If above I spoke about keeping your mind healthy, now I am talking about keeping your body in shape. Let it relax because after all, your body is your temple, right?

Healthy Summer foods are not hard to find at all. To be honest, you just have to see past the ice cream, doughnuts and many other sweets and desserts. Knowing that you can satisfy your sweet tooth with other delicious treats, why choose the most unhealthy one?

Hot weather can have various negative impacts on your energy levels, so try to add some dishes that are rich in vitamins and nutrients to your everyday diet. Don’t know where to start from? Worry not, together we’ll go through tasty snacks, healthy & yummy dishes and even one guilty pleasure. Let’s beat the heath and regain our wonderful energy!

1. Mix Protein & Vegetables as your Healthy Summer Dish

This meal is perfect for lunch! It’s one of my favourite dishes to prepare because it’s so easy and tasty. Plus, it gives me such an energy boost. Never mix carbohydrates with protein – you will instantly feel bloated and perhaps tired. If you’re not a meat eater, you can choose other diary products such as eggs whites, cheese or even nuts. When it comes to vegetables, it’s important to have them at least twice a day. They’re full of nutrients and vitamins. Also, plant based foods help you with gut bacteria and provide a smoother digestion.

2. Have berry & red berry smoothies

Berries are one of the most amazing healthy summer foods! Why? Simple! They’re a great source of antioxidants and they can decrease the risk of disease. They’re fresh and will also provide you with lots of energy and vitamins. Therefore, you can enjoy a sweet smoothie for breakfast and be healthy at the same time. One of my favourite breakfast dishes is 200ml of berry smoothie + a puffed rice cake with peanut butter on top. Improve your diet and get ready to make your Summer even better!

3. Indulge in fresh salads

As it can be quite hard to eat hot meals during Summer, you might need something more fresh. There are SO many salad combinations that you can try that you won’t get bored easily. Green leaf salad, spinach or iceberg salad are full of powerful antioxidants such as Vitamin C & E, Alpha and Beta Carotene, Folic Acid and Lycopene. By frequently consuming salads you can protect your heart, build strong bones, keep your weight in control and improve your muscles’ performance. If that didn’t make you feel like enjoying a fresh salad now, I don’t know what will!

4. Try small amounts of nuts as a Summer Healthy Snack

If you’re looking for quick healthy summer foods, nuts are your solution. They’re very rich in polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. These fats can even lower bad cholesterol. Nuts are packed in protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals. Choose four – five nuts instead of a bag of crisps and diversify your diet.

5. Drink lots of cold water and mint

Cold water with mint can be very fresh, and can provide you lots of energy during a hot Summer day. However, these are not the only benefits that come from mint or water. For instance, mint can reduce belly fat. The leaves can trigger the release of extra bile and help you get in shape. Help your body digest fat drinking cold water with mint!

6. Have a guilty pleasure: iced coffee

Actually, cold coffee can reduce the risk of heart disease. It can increase insulin sensitivity, lower body pressure and stabilise blood sugar levels. Moreover, iced coffee is less acidic than hot coffee. Therefore, it’s also much better for your stomach and teeth.

If you are a coffee drinker, go for iced coffee during Summer. It’s not only better for your health, but it can also improve your energy level during the day.

7. Eat low fat fish for dinner

I love low fat fish! It contains fewer calories and lots of protein. Some examples of low fat fish are: tilapia, cod, flounder and sole. Besides the protein, these fishes have lots of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Vitamins such as B and D. Plus, they are rich in Calcium, Potassium and are a great source of minerals. Hello, healthier lifestyle!

8. Healthy Summer Foods: spinach, rockets & peas

When you eat spinach you get lots vitamins and minerals. Moreover, it’s extremely rich in nutrients. Other greens such as peas and rockets are also great for your diet. They are all packed with fibre, minerals, vitamins and they are also low in calories. By eating greens you can reduce the risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and mental decline!

Women empowerment has been on my lips so much recently. I truly want to empower you all lovely women to become the best version of yourselves. Therefore, here I am with another inspiring article on how to stay motivated during Summer. It’s quite hard to focus on your goals when the weather is so inviting, your friends are always hanging out and you just can’t feel like working. However, there are tasks that need to be done and no one will help you achieve your goals besides yourself.

Of course it’s hard, but if you want to reach success you’ll have to set your priorities straight and work on your time management. Enjoy every second of spare time and work as hard as in every other season. You can do it! It gets easier with time, trust me.

If you want to learn 5 tips on how to stay motivated during Summer right NOW continue reading and follow the steps below:

1. Time management

No one said you can’t take breaks. Actually, breaks are also very productive and will help you increase your level of performance. However, you can’t live from break to break. Make up a clear schedule on how you want your days to look like and stick to it. For example:

– Wake up early and work from 8:00am to 12:00pm. After that, you can enjoy a lunch break at your favourite restaurant. If you don’t fancy going on your own, invite one of your friends or your significant other.

– Then you can work from 2pm to 4pm and have a short coffee break at the end of the session.

– Then, do the last tasks from 5pm to 7pm, and now you have your evening free. Not only you’ve worked 8 hours without realising, but you’ve also finished your tasks in time in order to enjoy the rest of the day. You can head to the city, relax, take a walk, do literally anything you want. Moreover, given the high temperatures in Summer, you can’t even go outside before 6pm if you’re not heading to the pool.

2. Change your work space

If you have to work on a project and the weather is way too inviting, don’t stay inside. Change the atmosphere and romanticise your life! Set up a nice and quiet place outside and leave the desk behind. You’ll do two things at once. Moreover, your dose of creativity will increase because you’re feeling happier and your project can have a more successful result. If you feel like you’re stuck inside, go outside! Do everything you can to be as productive as possible. Reach your full potential!

3. Reward yourself!

After a hard day of work, reward yourself! You should never forget to thank yourself for all of the hard work you’ve done in order to achieve your dreams. You can reward yourself with your favourite food, with wine, a day at the spa or even a night out. It’s completely up to you but it’s also necessary. You are a human being after all, don’t forget about the simple pleasures in life. They are as much as important as achieving your goals.

4. Surround yourself with positive people

The environment you’re living in has a great effect on your motivation. Surround yourself with people who care about you and your well-being. This way, if they know you have work to do, they won’t pressure you in delaying your schedule just to hang out. Also, if the people around you have also similar priorities, you’ll be able to motivate each other. This step is all about women empowerment. You’ll have to empower the ladies around you to go after their dreams. All of you can hang out during the weekends or during your days off. If you know how to arrange your schedule, you’ll have time for anything.

5. Love yourself

In order to respect your work and your journey, you’ll first have to love yourself. As I said many times before, YOU are unique in this world. Moreover, you should be your no. 1 priority. Learn how to love yourself with simple exercises such as: writing down five things you love about yourself everyday. You will help your brain realise how great you really are. Also, another practical thing would be to read a few women empowerment quotes every day in the morning. Start your day fresh and confident. Don’t let yourself down and start achieving those goals.

6. Hobbies and passions

It’s proven that hobbies and passions will increase your creativity and your desire to start achieving your goals. Therefore, if painting relaxes you and helps you with your imagination, do it! You should do it as often as you can. It’s so important to make time for our passions. At the end of the day you’ll be much more relaxed and ready to work hard.
